I went for an MRI without a contrast injection. The technician injected me against my referral and directive for no injection. They altered my medical records and lied about it. I definitely don't trust that they know what they're doing. I don't feel even slightly safe in their care. I've never seen a provider so unprofessional. They obviously do not care about their patients rights or laws made to protect patients. There is no way I'd ever recommend them to any of my friends or family members. If there was some way I could have known what a horrible experience I was going to have, I wouldn't have gone in the first place. Not only were they the worst radiologist I've ever seen, I think they are the worst in the field. I wasn't impressed at all.

Dr. Michael C. Spellman was caught in a conspiracy which started as an illegal unauthorized contrast injection. Rather than follow a do not inject directive and referral, I was injected with contrast dye causing an immediate anaphylactic reaction causing permanent injuries. To protect his technician, Dr. Spellman, a shareholder, lied claiming he changed the order. He was not even present as the law requires.

Rather than admit his violations of patient's rights and several medical laws, they chose to alter my medical records, lie in depositions and in court, were involved in witness tampering and conspired to hide the details of their confirmed illegal activities.

Lie after lie, RMG is digging a deeper hole. In an attempt to stop me from telling about what happened, RMG proceeded to file for restraining orders while lying on the applications. The orders were denied by two judges three times due to the FACTUAL evidence.

Now, several years later, Spellman and Radiology Medical Group are still harassing me by attempting to extort large sum of moneys. The lies and conspiracy Radiology Medical Group perpetrated against me are inexcusable. RMG is angry I have gone public with the truth about their perverse activities and they are attempting to damage my reputation and business. There is no place in our society for criminals like Radiology Medical Group and Dr. Michael Spellman.

Dr. Michael Spellman, radiologist and co-owner of Dominican MRI Center/ Radiology Medical Group committed acts of perversion injuring a patient. Several other employees, including MRI technician John Rider, Linda Lantry and Becky Shoemaker were also involved in these acts of perversion. Their behavior is inexcusable.

Radiology Medical Group has been under investigation due to their illegal activities. Many of these activities have to due with violations of patient's rights, lack of informed consent, changing referrals and altering medical documents.

There is an active civil law suit against Radiology Medical Group.

Extensive evidence exists including the altered medical records RMG used in their conspiracy.

Dr. Spellman has admitted that he took drugs and is allowed to take drugs at Dominican Hospital without any making any record.

It is about time the cat is out of the bag. We have known about these perverts for some time. Radiology Medical Group must be stopped before any other patients are taken advantage of or killed.

Dr. Spellman has made it clear, he does not usually see patients, his function is to interpret the scanning and information presented. This by itself has not stopped this predator from taking advantage of patients. He still saw patients and continued his perverse acts.

Santa Cruz is a progressive community, however RMG should NOT be allowed to continue these clearly careless and criminal perverted activities.

I do not trust Radiology Medical Group of Santa Cruz. I have first hand proof Radiology Medical Group is involved in a conspiracy, fraud, perjury, assault, altering medical documents, unlawful contrast injection, unethical conduct, failure to exercise care, discretion and judgment, negligently failing to obtain a patient's legally required informed consent, failure to follow Medical Board of CA law requiring a physician be present in the facility where a contrast injection is performed.

A few of the things I noticed about Radiology Medical Group





Bait and switch - changing a less expensive MRI "WITHOUT CONTRAST" to a more expensive (Approx: $1,000.00 more) MRI "WITH CONTRAST". And did I mention that Dr. Spellman is a share holder in this Radiology Medical Group?
Causing great bodily injury; Injection of unauthorized contrast solution eliminating patient safety.

Conspiracy - covering up pertinent facts; Becky Shoemaker admitted to her niece that John Rider gave me a contrast injection against a written physician’s referral. Against my direct order that I told my doctor and John Rider I didn’t want an injection.

Entering altered documents as evidence in my niece’s deposition; Marsh entered into evidence documents that were altered after the injection without telling my niece they had been changed in order to get her to arrive at a false conclusion which made it appear that the defendant had authorization from a physician to give a contrast injection.

Failing to follow manufacturer’s procedures: A physician was not supervising anytime during the MRI procedure or contrast injection.

Even if a technician had the proper training, they are not allowed to touch a patient without a physician present and supervising during administration of contrast solutions.

Failing to follow patient’s direct order not to have any injections.

Failing to properly screen a patient; even though documents are present at Dominican Hospital they chose not to refer to those documents or the referral provided which stated ”Without Contrast”, which show a complete lack of care or safety for the patient.

Failure to provide patient with immediate life saving procedures which were not available at the time of injection.

Failure to provide adequate available emergency allergic reaction procedures and instead relying on the use of 911.

Failure to follow referring physician’s “WITHOUT CONTRAST” orders.

Failure to follow RMG protocol which requires a physician be present during a contrast injection.


Failure to get "INFORMED CONSENT"; John Rider, Dr. Spellman, Linda Lantry and Becky Shoemaker all lied and conspired to hide the truth. Prior to scan six John Rider announced over a loudspeaker that this was to be the last scan. John Rider claims it was after scan number six was completed that he called Dr. Spellman to discuss a change order from “WITHOUT CONTRAST” to with contrast. Just after scan six John Rider was clearly not on the phone calling anyone because he was pulling me out of the MRI tube. He was clearly diverting my attention away from what he was doing by talking about someone from high school, with my eyes still covered, sleepy from lying down and my ear plugs still in, he diverted my attention away from what he was planning to do without authorization. Per Linda Lantry (Page 42 Line 15) the MRI machine was never stopped or delayed to allow time for a phone call to Dr. Spellman.
