Late last year, I contacted Irvine Family Practice for annual physics exam. I verified that they are in network provider of my health insurance plan BlueCross BlueShield. On the day I visited the office, they verified again with my insurance, I paid deductible and received the service. Attached is the “Summary of Benefits” document from the insurance company. Please note on page 3 the “Routine adult physical exams” under covered services section. It is quite clear. Early this year I started to receive bills from Irvine Family Practice and one medical lab company concerning the cost of their service. I call them multiple times and informed them that they need to resolve the issues with the insurance company. At their request, I also contacted the insurance company, I discovered that the reason that their claim was denied is that they incorrectly filed it as something other than routine physical exams. I have wasted lots of my personal time on this matter already. It is a really bad experience.
