I had not been to a doctor’s office in about a century, so I had no idea I was in such dire shape until Dr. B examined me. In our first meeting, he quickly made arrangements for me to be treated at Cedars to deal with a life threatening condition that I had dismissed as bronchitis. (Why did I think it was bronchitis? I don't know, I'm not a doctor, just a fool who used to rely too much on Wikipedia for his health care diagnoses.)
I am scared of everything health care related so this was my worst nightmare and I sort of freaked out, but Dr. B was very reassuring while not making light of my condition. Within 1 hour I was laying in my own room at Cedars, even though they quoted a much longer wait when they were first called. Dr. B flew through his rolodex and worked some magic over the phone because even the woman in admissions actually seemed surprised that I didn’t have to wait when I arrived.
He visited me throughout my stay and called me several times to ensure things were going smoothly with the hospital staff. He identified the issue (a heart virus, eek) and gave me a combo of meds that had my heart performing within normal range soon after my hospital stay.
He responds to emails quickly, even out of office hours and times when he is not in the office. Overall, I could not be more enthusiastic in my praise for this doctor. He cares about the health of his patients and has the expertise to back it up.
I was lucky enough to have stumbled upon Dr. Borookhim after an emergency room visit. Two doctors actually misdiagnosed my problem, and if it weren't for Dr. Borookhim's absolute commitment and relentless thoroughness, I would have been prematurely sent home and could have faced severe complications. This doctor literally saved my life, and I can't recommend him highly enough.
First I'll start by saying I found this doctor on Yelp after Blue Shield gave me a few options in my area. Dr. Borookhim took his time listening to my vitals and didn't just take numbers down on a a piece of paper. He gave me the right meds for me. As we all know, taking antibiotics every time we get sick is not smart nor is it healthy. So right from the start I trusted his expertise. Another thing I liked about his office, is the fact that everyone was a different age. I didn't want to go to a doctor who only dealt with one type of patient. There were patients of all stature and ages. I've called him twice when I really needed him and he was there for me. I mean, within 10 minutes there for me. He called me back, yes it will be from a "private number" but he does call back. He also will come to you if you need him too. He's a great doctor overall and I'm sticking with him.
I moved from Atlanta where I had a family doctor we have been loyal too for years. My family is still on the east coast and I felt it necessary to find a doctor who I trust. Dr. Borookhim is that doctor to me now. I hope this helps those of you who are fed up with no getting the attention you deserve.
