They paid close attention to me and all of my questions were answered. Their staff was friendly. I was very satisfied with my visit. They were helpful and I left feeling encouraged. The office was easy enough to find. I will absolutely return. I had a very good experience and would refer anyone I know there.

They were by far one of the best I've ever seen in their field. It was obvious that they've been exceeding their clients' expectations for many years. They always made sure that I wasn't in any pain. They always take the time to listen to me. I know they really care about me and what I have to say.

I could not imagine a worse case of incompetence than what I experienced at this clinic. My first encounter consisted of me calling to make an appointment and discovering that the office clerks had already lost all my paper work from my local clinic. All they had in my file was a single x-ray. So, I had to call my local clinic and get them to fax the documents down again, and I had to call the workers compensation agent to send their documents again as well.
I gave them a benefit of the doubt after the first mistake and made an appointment to which I traveled over three hours one way to the clinic. Since I couldn’t use my arm I had get a friend to take off work and drive me to the doctor, and so it was important for me to see the doctor. However, once I arrived the clerk that booked my appointment said that I didn’t have a time scheduled and they were not going to see me. It is noteworthy to mention that she delivered this message to me by screaming in ghetto slang even though I remained calm and polite. I was actually kinda shocked and embarrassed, and so I requested to speak to the manager. The manager came by and invited me into the back office. While we were there she told me they had no spot for me because they were overbooked by about forty people, which I believed by seeing the waiting room. In the end I had to call the workers comp agent and requested another doctor and then the manager agreed to let me stay until closing to see the doctor. So, I sat in the doctors office an additional five hours to see the doctor for about five minutes.
After the visit I just described the Doctor told me to go get an MRI and come back. So, as I was instructed, I called the office a couple days later to see which MRI place I should book a date with and they gave the name and location. I called the MRI place and made an appointment to which I showed up on time to be welcomed by a friendly staff and basically no line. They called over to get the documents faxed over and then told me that Dr. Shantram’s office would not send the documents and wanted me to go to a different location. Once again, I had to have a friend take off work to drive me over three hours one way and this is the exact MRI place that they told be to make an appointment with. I found it strange that Dr. Shantram’s office did business with this MRI place and another, but they wanted me to leave the one with no line and with my appointment to drive somewhere else and wait around all day to maybe get seen at the end of the day. This time I put my foot down and called the workers comp agent and they called Dr. Shantram’s office and said they didn’t mind which place I used and the clerks at the MRI place thought they were acting strangely as well. Long story short when I was speaking on the phone to the manager of Dr. Shantram’s office and explained that no one had a problem with me getting the MRI from this location but her she slammed the phone down on me. Once again they lacked any kind of courtesy, organization, or professionalism.
For awhile that was the end of my major issues. Later I wanted to get a pain killer that didn’t involve taking pills because it was wrecking havoc on my digestive system. He prescribed me an ointment after some hassling, and I preferred it over the pills. However, when I went to get a refill on the ointment they gave me a run around for a few weeks and then straight up told me that they were not going to see me any more and if I wanted the ointment to go to another doctor. So, instead of filling out two lines on a piece of paper or making a phone call they instructed me to go see another doctor. At this point, I’m not sure if my work injury will be covered if I go to see another doctor. Not to mention I live in area where the nearest doctor is a couple hours away. So, I suppose I will have to grit it out. I had to continue to see this doctor because it was picked by my workers comp agent, who in general did very well. However, Dr. Shantram’s office was very much disorganized, rude, uncaring, unhappy, unprofessional, incorporative, and seemed to be profit driven. They take on way too many people and the physical therapist that worked on me said that it was common for her patients to tell her that he does not like patients to ask questions as he is in and out in about two minutes per person. He has even told people that they ask too many questions and that he doesn’t have time for that. In general I have a great deal of respect for doctors and the services that they provide but this guy is for sure the bottom of any list you can make.
