Everything they told me in the beginning ended up turning out exactly the way they said it would. They were able to provide me everything they promised me. I've never doubted their abilities. They made the extra effort to make sure every question and concern I had was addressed. I never have to worry about them overbooking appointments. They definitely believe in quality over quantity here and it is much appreciated. I always look forward to my appointments because they take that extra step to make me feel special and respected. They really make an effort to get to know all their clients and don't just treat them like a number. They always go above and beyond to help me with anything I need. They never complain about anything, and I know I can always count on them.

There was lots of available parking at their office. I was glad that I didn't have to drive around looking for parking. I've been places before where they were argumentative and angry, so I was nervous that I would encounter that here as well. Instead, they were very calm and understanding the entire time. I could tell they really care about everyone who visits them. They always go above and beyond to help me with anything I need. They never complain about anything, and I know I can always count on them. I've never had to worry about them being understaffed or not being able to help me right when I need it. They have a huge staff that's very knowledgeable and qualified.

I was told that Mr. Gordon was one of the best minds in the field of psychiatry. I beleive that I saw him a few times... I respected his office and all his little school papers and such... you know how they are.

Anyway, Mr. Gordon seemed to have a rather cold persona about him. When you are talking, you get the feeling that you are just having a one way conversation with yourself... and that just makes an already uncomfortable situation a little extra awkward. I did not like it. Sure, he may have been writing down information about me... an analysis that I will never see or know about. Who really knows what they are writing anyway.

I left the office with many prescriptions. It was the first time I had been diagnosed with Bipolar disorder. But, when it came to which kind of Bipolar.. I would never know. I found myself doing more of the research to fill in the blanks on the information he neglected to provide me with. This is what an "expert dr." left me with.

Sometime after, I was starting to have a serious depressive episode and my first experience with an anxiety attack. I needed to see a psychiatrist soon. So I called Mr. Gordon's office, and they were unable to schedule me in for an emergency appointment... but only had openings a month or two out. I called and begged again... please, this is urgent, I need to see him... he knows my history... (or at least I think he wrote something down while I talked into thin air.) Anyway, I left several messages for his office and nobody got back to me. I tried my best efforts to be considerate and give them time to get back to me.

Eventually, I thought I would just go to the emergency room for help... and guess what... they did not like the way I was feeling inside or understood the complexities of bipolar disorders and decided to call Upland Police on me instead to do an "evaluation" on me and ultimately decide to take me away against my will for a 72 hour hold to a strange place in a strange city. I was 5150'd and didn't even know it. Because Mr. Gordon did not tend to my pleads as an "exellent" psychiatrist should... I was taken to a darker place where I saw lots of horrible things happen to people who were mentally ill. For three days, I lost time at work... I lost time with family and I seemed to have lost my mind because I was confused and knew that I did not belong in a mental facility like this.... All I wanted was some anti anxiety drug to help me out through those bipolar slumps and calm me down.

I was very hurt and offended that My. Gordon was not compassionate enough to tend to his patients immediate needs and ultimately giving the patient a scary traumatic experience with strangers in a mental facility in the middle of the night. I never got a call back from that office and think of all he put me through each day when I drive past his office.

So, I feel that it's important to let others know that Mr. Gordon may be highly recomended by others for reasons that are unknown by me.... but be cautious with him if you need immediate assistance.... or else you may be strapped in the back of an ambulance and taken away against your will. I would not seek Mr. Gordon ever again for assistance because of my experience, his aloof persona and lack of explaining a serious disorder to me. I never knew that bipolar depression had such a high rate of suicide.... and Mr. Gordon put me at a higher risk during that time for his pratices...

Seek a real Psychiatrist if you need help. Especially if it's something as complex as bipolar disorder... it is a tricky illness that one needs to have fully explained and understood by a good Dr. who sees you as a person and not just a patient to dianose, drug up and see you in two weeks.
