This doctor is a joke. He will get hooked on your meds and hear rumors that your selling your meds from the same people that cases the place so when you walk out they asked to buy your meds and if you don't sell to them they call the doctor's office up and say your selling them so he calls you in to do a pill check and calls the cops on you for being a few pills short when you come in for a pill count and then takes your meds in front of the cop and then call your pharmacy and says your dealing drugs and then leaves you hanging to DRY. Now I know why his daughter has nothing to do with him

I wrote a review not long ago defending Dr. Burnett, and now I wonder if I was just trying to convince myself to keep seeing him after nearly 10 years. Since that time I have found a new provider. Dr. Burnett has always been quick to talk about himself, family issues, alimony, problems with previous partners and associates, etc. I took it with a grain of salt as part of his plain spoken demeanor. Recently he even went to far as to tell me he wasn't sure he could meet his monthly payroll obligations, and I finally started to get uncomfortable.

Recently he has seemed confused about why I was there, going over previously discussed lab results and so forth, as if he was "searching" for the reason I was there. I have had to "brief" him on my condition, meds I'm on and recent happenings before he seemed to be able to "get with it." I thought, "ok, he must be really busy lately."

On my last (final) visit he took a phone call and for about 10 minutes he discussed another patient's condition in great detail, with me sitting in front of his desk. When he finally finished, he began talking to me while his mind was clearly still on the other patient.

let me digress now. In my previous visit, he said my blood pressure was high (it was the same as always) and said something like "they want it lower now" as if to say there was a new standard. He asked me to record my blood pressure every morning for a week and come back to see him, so there I was on the previously mentioned "final" visit. The nurse took my BP (it was same as always) and Dr. Burnett commented on how good it was. When I asked why then had he asked me to record it daily and come back in a week, his blank stare showed that he was clueless. He then started "reaching" by saying well, it's always a good idea to monitor it. I was also there for another reason, and he should have known, but he seemed totally clueless. I told him I was concerned that he had no idea why he asked me to come in and that he was very distracted. He then broke into a tirade about how he had to take the call from someone who was "...in far worse condition than you are..." and accused me of "busting his balls." I stopped him and said I saw no alternative to getting up and leaving, so that's what I did.

Anyone considering seeing Dr. Burnett should reconsider. And, you should definitely read up on his reprimand from the medical board last year. It's a fascinating read. I can't believe I stayed with him as long as I did.

This doctor remembers me by face as well as medical problems every time I see him. He is courteous and professional. I'm instantly put at ease and comfortable - like I am speaking with a family member about my health issues. He doesn't roll his eyes at me when I ask questions (had 1 doctor do that to me before and it totally put me off).He takes his time with me and makes sure I understand. He is very personable and candid when I have problems. It helps me feel like he really does know what I'm going through. I feel like a person when I am there. With as many visits as I've had there over many years - and all the people I've spoken with about Dr. Burnett who were waiting with me - I haven't heard one bad thing other than sometimes he gets behind with his patients but all of us know that he spends as much time that is needed for his patients and does the same for us when we need it. I'd rather have a doctor who is thorough with his patients than one who keeps an eye on the clock and sends you out the door without making sure everything was addressed. I saw some comments about him being a druggie - those comments are ridiculous! I happen to be a retired paramedic and would be the first to realize if my doctor were using - without a doubt. I do know that he's been in business for over 20 years in the Navarre area - that alone should make it obvious he's a good doctor, otherwise, if he's as bad as all that, he wouldn't still have a medical license. All anyone has to do is make an appointment and see for themselves. I do notice the negative commenters don't leave their names - makes me think it is 1 or 2 people with a vendetta who maybe were angry because they're jealous or a drug seeking patient that was released, or maybe even a disgruntled previous employee that was terminated because they we're doing what they were supposed to be.

Dr. Burnett is my primary care physician. When I need a consultation, he is available. He is careful to take my needs into consideration. I travel the U.S. and depend on Dr. Burnett.

This doctor is a drug dealer in my opinion; he should go to jail for not only being a lousy doctor but also for hooking people on narcotics and for supporting the habbits of people already hooked. He is scared right now because he's being investigated by the DEA -- so he's "firing" patients left and right. He knows there's a very good chance he could go to jail; he's said so himself. None of his staff lasts very long.

He has spoken with irritation about his "bad reputation" at all the nearby pharmacies. Because the pharmacies are onto him. They know he doles out pain meds irresponsibly, but there's not much they can do about it. The doc himself has said this....to me. Basically, you pay what he wants, you get the script that you want.

Yes, he has helped alleviate the pain of people with legitmate medical conditions. But he also knowingly supports the habbits of addicts who don't have legitimate medical need. For people struggling with addiction reading this, you CAN free yourself of these terrible chains. But this doctor isn't going to help you free yourself; he profits off your weakness.

You know what you're doing is wrong, Wayne. Stop hurting people. You can't keep a patient for the same reason you couldn't keep a wife (as others have noted, he talks too damn much about his ex wife when he should be asking questions about his patients' medical conditions). He's dangerous.

I have to agree with the individual who posted his/her opinion about the concierge fee. This physician was my elderly uncle's provider before I moved in to look after him. While this physician is personable, neither my wife nor I felt comfortable that my uncle's best interests were being served after we initially met with him to be brought up to speed on his history. On 3 different occasions, my wife had to bring it to the Dr.'s attention that there were several discrepancies on the long list of prescribed meds, and we questioned the overwhelming number of supplements that my uncle, who has moderate dementia, had been placed on. After 3 meetings, we were finally able to all get on the same page and were able to reduce the number of pills the poor guy was taking, or trying to remember to take, on a daily basis. On one of these visits, we had forgotten the list at home and my wife asked twice if she should run back home and get it and was told no by the Dr., who then changed his mind and sent her home to retrieve it. During her drive time back, however, the Dr. suddenly discovered that his office staff had made a mistake in scheduling and he suddenly realized that he needed to leave for lunch. My wife did not have her cell on her, so needless to say she was not very pleased to return to find that my uncle and I had already been "dismissed"; during our wait for her, I might add that we had to listen to the Dr. swear obscenities at his staff for "their scheduling ineptitude." In my opinion, it is never professional to dress down staff within a client's hearing, nor is it ever professional to speak to staff in such a manner. There were other concerns and questions that were never fully answered and gave us the impression that the Dr. was a bit "scattered." Our big concern was this: why would a physician charge a $600/year "concierge" fee from a 87-year-old widowed WWII veteran living on a fixed income (who also is an end-stage cardiac hospice patient) on top of the fact that his healthcare expenses are already 100% covered between his Medicare and another supplemental insurance plan? This in addition to prescribing him unusually large doses of testosterone "for muscle health" ($100/bottle), not covered by either Medicare or his insurance, and $35 every 10 days to have it administered by an office nurse, again a fee not covered by Medicare or his insurance. In our opinion, that is taking advantage of an elderly, confused, easily swayed man who just did not know any better and there is no excuse for that, under any circumstances. When we recently learned of a friend who had an incredibly poor experience in which she was sworn at similarly and a statement was made to her about him "going broke" because she always paid cash when she saw him because she was ineligible for health insurance due to the nature of her condition, and the fact that the hospice team began questioning the logic in prescribing my uncle so much testosterone, we decided to find him a provider who TRULY has his best interests at heart. I would also agree with someone else on here who wrote about the Dr. sharing his divorce info---not classy to share this info with your patients and to make it known that there are personal financial issues.

Dr Burnett has gotten out of medicine and into business. His "concierge" program is nothing more than his attempt to have steady income above and beyond what insurance pays. Sure you can call him after hours through his service or his cell phone, but what doctor doesn't have an on-call provider covering him after hours? He will not use traditional means of medical treatment, meaning he won't listen to your heart, lungs, abdomen, and he definitely won't do a physical exam unless you request it. He will, however, be more than willing to sign you up for some of his medical scans that are not covered by insurance and then if that identifies a problem, you can get the real scan done again by a specialist and get real treatment. If you want vitamins, he is your man...he will even sell them to you. If you want to know the origins of the wart, he will tell you, but if you have a serious medical condition, he will refer you without even taking your pulse... Shy away from him unless you have a lot of money and don't need true medical care.
