The receptionist is rude. You can tell she doesn't like a certain group and being spanish, she should know better. This is a korean/spanish group in a predominately black community. As for the dentist, she pains me. You feel the shots, she does work that she wants to do, not what you go in for, then charges you. She is friendly but you know its superficial. She put in a bridge while gums were still swollen and months later, still in pain, she blames it on how I brush. I finally went to another dentist and he said it was a sloppy job.I was in utter agony the whole time they were cleaning my teeth. It was completely unbearable. Parking is sparse but I found a space.

Dr. Jenny Kim is a crook!

I moved recently to this neighborhood with my wife and three kids and was absolutely delighted to find a "nice" dental location in walking distance. I walked with my daughter and was quoted 3 out-of-pocket prices by the office manager: $50(polish)/$200(deep)/$325(deeper)
I scheduled a $50 polish and returned a few days later. I filled out the medical information and waited a few minutes before being approached by the office assistant. He offered me a discounted cleaning if I ALLOWED a student X-ray tech to conduct her work. Since the poor girl was standing next to him I agreed, $30 off of the $50 polish was a great deal. I paid the $20 discounted invoice in full and was given a receipt. After 45 minutes of painful X-rays by an unlicensed X-ray tech they moved me to the cleaning chair. After a brief introduction to Dr. Kim (who appeared very pleasant), she began probing my mouth and told me that I needed a deep clean. I reiterated that I was aware I needed more than a polish, however I clearly scheduled the $50 polish because that option was given to me. She seemed confused that the office manager signed me up for the $50 polish, then retracted, explaining that because her official diagnosis is the $200 cleaning, that is ALL she could offer me! In other words, "everyone is welcome to these cleaning options...oops, you really need more (of course), so our original contract is erroneous, you must pay four times the amount out-of pocket immediately!!! No other alternative was presented be either Dr. Kim or the office manager who refused to take ANY responsibility for miscommunication on behalf of the price she quoted on 3 separate occasions (1 in person/2 via phone). I explained that it is absolutely criminal to quote a price for a service, accept payment, then inflate the price or price category simply at their will or "diagnosis". This act of swindling presents an immediate conflict of interest. For any person paying them for a service, they CAN NOT suddenly refuse this service and offer a more expensive option as the ONLY option.

I asked Dr. Kim exactly what service did my $20 paid invoice represent. She said it was for the exam. I was completely shocked!!!!! The same exam that was begged of me as a discounted favor to their unlicensed X-ray tech!! The same exam that the office manager said he was "discounting" from my $50 polish!! NOW the office assistant and Dr. Kim and the office manager suddenly agreed that the exam was part of a bundle package included with my polish. However, since Dr. Kim's "diagnosis" was for 4X the contracted amount, they REFUSED to honor the $50 contract. Dr. Kim stated that they were KEEPING my $20 because it paid for the EXAM!! They all actually stared at me in silence after I inquired, "If the exam is part of the $50 polish that I already paid for at your quoted discount price, then why did you present the X-ray later as if it were a separate item, which is why it was discounted from the $50 in the first place? If the exam is included then why are you discounting? If I am already paying for the exam, why don't you have a licensed technician on site??" NO ANSWERS!! Just stares... Finally the office assistant admitted the mistake and practically blamed it all on the manager saying "I didn't schedule your appointment"', knowing the office manager scheduled me herself.

Even after admitting the foolishness and absurdity behind their false advertisement and backwards swindling practices that mainly affect "poor people"... They still REFUSED to refund my $20!!!!!!!! What the heck did I come there for as a first time client? To get caught in some hustle tictactoe where they quote a price, backdoor you into paying for a $20 X-ray/exam, and refuse their quoted contract whereas a poor client leaves their office frustrated and with absolutely NO dental work accomplished - just $20 bucks shorter!! What a SHAM!!!!! Stay away.

I was intending on bringing my wife and kids here next month, since my new family dental insurance starts then...so this would've been our family dentist. Phew!!! Did we luck out with this horrific first time experience or what? After all this, Dr. Kim simply walked away grinning with NO apology, just my $20 bucks!!!!

Solution: Offer $19.99 exams if you want people's little money so bad. Don't surprise honest clients with this non-refundable tag for X-rays that is NOT discussed. In fact this cost was denied in person by the office manager who told me initially that X-ray exams were NOT covered with the polish! If you want to keep people's hard earned $20 for this X-ray hustle, at least hire a proper tech not an unlicensed "student". After you keep my money, what can I do with the X-rays? Hang them on my wall? No. The student keeps the X-ray images for her class and Dr. Kim keeps my $20 bucks. Meanwhile, I was a new patient seeking a local family dentist and a $50 polish!!! Criminal.

I thought that everyone on the staff was very nice and friendly. I did feel welcomed during my visit. I felt very safe in their care. I definitely trust them. It was very noticeable that they practiced good oral hygiene themselves.
