I have been a patient of Dr. Akutagawa for at least 25 years. I had grown up in Chicago with a horrible dentist who didn't believe in giving novacaine to patients under 18 years old. Needless to say, I was traumatized. When I moved to Manteca, I knew I needed to find a dentist so I asked a close friend of mine and he suggested Dr. Akutagawa. I went for my first consultation and cleaning and found out that I had a couple of cavities. I went back for the fillings, still scared, but Dr. Akutagawa put all my fears to rest. He is so gentle and he's never hurt me. He even uses a topical numbing agent to minimize/block pain from getting the initial numbing injections. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Akutagawa to anyone who is looking for a great dentist.

I have been a patient of Dr. Akutagawa's for the past 25 years. He is the best dentist I've ever had. He is so gentle no matter what implement he is putting in your mouth. He not only does general dentistry on an exceptional level, he also is highly qualified to do orthodontics, periodontics, implants and he makes all of his own crowns, bridges, etc. His office staff is also terrific. Everyone has worked for him for a long time. They are all caring and sweet. A confirmation call is always provided as a reminder and when the dental hygienist is done with you, you will receive a toothbrush, toothpaste and floss. I recently had an implant put in and Dr. Akutagawa personally called me at home the night of and the day after the procedure to make sure that I was OK and in no pain. Not many doctors do that in this day and age.

I have been a client of Dr. Akutagawa's since he opened his practice. His care is exceptional---very little discomfort involved. He and his staff make every effort possible to maintain your comfort at an acceptable level. Office staff is very friendly and polite and very accommodating with schedule changes.

Not only do my appointments never get canceled last minute, they take time out of their day to send me a reminder so I don't forget. They are extremely reliable. Their office was one of the quietest, most peaceful places I've ever visited. I was able to relax very easily. It's very reassuring to know that they are recommended by other dentists. It gives me confidence that I'm going to a professional. I could tell that they took pride in their office's appearance. It was very well organized and well taken care of. I don't think I have ever been put on hold here for a long time and am so impressed with how quickly all of my questions are answered. There's nothing worse than having to wait on hold for a half an hour just to get someone to talk to you.
