When my child is sick, they usually can get them in on the same day, but if it's a Tuesday night you're screwed because he's not open Wednesday and his answer is always to go to Urgent Care which for most of us is a much higher co-pay . I was ok with the appointments we had seen Dr.Uson for 2 years. It was neither the best by far however not the worst I experienced. The equipment desperately needs to be updated. It looks like it has been decades since they upgraded their office equipment. MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT IS HIS STAFF. HIs wife is "his staff"and is horrible. She doesn't give him messages and when you ask to speak with the dr she tries avoid it. I had brought up the issue with him regarding his wife not giving him my phone calls, saying she never received my childs test results and giving me the run around anytime I needed something- it got me absolutely no where. Instead she started charging me for blue and yellows required for school after NEVER having to pay for them previously, she's spiteful and ABSOLUTELY ZERO help. She tried to make me schedule an appt to refill a medication my child had been on for the past 5 yrs and had been going to their office for the past 2 years, I refused and told her I wanted a phone call from the Dr. sure enough she called back and said the prescription is now refilled. My child was sick and couldn't get her in until almost 4pm! Another time we had to get my child a new nebulizer but once again she dropped the ball with the paper work. My child was rushed to the ER and didn't end up receiving the machine until MIDNIGHT!!! Yes midnight!!! after countless call to supervisors it was determined her paper work never went through! The company told me most pediatrician offices not only call to confirm it, but to put a rush on it because it's for a child- however my child was left with out a nebulizer until midnight because she couldn't simply pick up a phone to confirm paper work went through, never mind putting a rush on it. Dr. Uson himself is ok for your average cold if he hired a professional staff personal I'm sure his office would do much better. I can continue writing examples of less than professional experiences I've had with his wife, but my last straw is when they refused to help me get the results back from urgent care. Urgent care had contacted them several times to try to get a fax number and she never called back. My child was scheduled for upcoming surgery and she knew this and did nothing to help meet the results back that she knew we really needed. Once my child had the surgery there was no phone call from his staff to see how my child who had been seeing this dr for over 2 years. When you have that 3 am emergency don't expect a phone call back sometimes you get one sometimes you don't till the next day. He is not affiliated with any hospitals, so if your child does need to be hospitalized they need to see whatever hospital pediatrician is on staff that doesn't know your child personally. I would not personally recommend this dr not only because of his staff but because of his availability is not ideal and the fact that he is not associated with any hospitals to my knowledge is not very reassuring. If my child is hospitalized id like to see my own pediatrician not a dr I've most likely never met and who has never seen my child.
