I am not one to write reviews unless my experience is very good or very bad. In this particular case, this was one of THE WORST experiences I have ever encountered.

I have put up with the office staff messing up appointments and not being efficient, but this last experience took the cake. I was 10 or 15 minutes early for my 3:20pm appointment and after waiting quite some time, Dr. Swaminathan came out of his room to give the front desk some of the patient folders and then did not even recognize me or acknowledge me (I have been seeing him for about 6 months), and went out to make a personal call. Then he came back and went into his room and shut the door for several minutes. The front desk did not even tell him I was there.

3:20pm rolls around and a patient comes in for his appointment with Swaminathan. He was suppose to be there at 3pm-- making him 20 minutes late and I have been there for 15 minutes. They then take him back while I am sitting there waiting! WTF!!! That is not how the rules go! Then a REALLY annoying older lady comes in with her friend. She does not have an appointment with Swaminathan but insists on seeing him. It is about 3:30 when she came in. The male patient leaves the doctor's office and Swaminathan shuts his door for about 5 minutes. The front office staff are just walking around like chickens with their heads chopped off and trying to ignore the fact of what they did. At this time, it is 3:55 and Swaminathan comes out and the older lady who had an "emergency" is taken back to see him because she could not wait the 30 minutes they told her it was going to be!!!! That is just UNFAIR and RUDE!

This especially ticks me off because I had called TWICE the previous week because I was having some serious issues with my anti-depressants. (Which I told Swaminathan that I read the ones he put me on counteract with one another. But he just brushed it off and said that was not true.. he never heard of that... even though 5 different, qualified, sites said so-- making me think he does not know his medications).

I made the executive decision to stop taking one of my medications and saved my life. The office said I could not see any other doctors despite this being an emergency (I have never had an emergency the 4 yrs I have been seeing a psychiatrist). They told me to just call the emergency number (suicide hotline I would assume). The office said he would call me after the weekend. HE NEVER CALLED ME! How unprofessional!

I do not want this to get too long. I can go on and on about the details, but I think I got the point across. In the end, I ended up not getting in for my appointment and demanded a refund. Needless to say, I am DONE with this whole practice. I am seeing a new psychiatrist! This was ridiculous! ... Especially with it being a PSYCHIATRIC office! C'mon now!

I do NOT recommend this doctor or even going to this practice/office. They are very unorganized and quite frankly the worst psychiatry office I have ever been at.. bar none!
