Poor bedside manner and showed no concern for 1 year old son who was very sick. Rude and condescending to mother. I LOVE the practice but will not allow my kids to be seen by him again.

My children have been patients of Dr. Brood for 11 years now and I cannot imagine taking them anywhere else. He has, by far, the BEST bedside manner I have ever experienced in my life. While at the mall one day he approached me and inquired how one of boys were doing with an ear infection he had treated him for the week prior, calling him by name, from that moment on I was sold on him as a provider. Not to mention my boys are both very comfortable talking to him and answering his questions.

Dr. Brodd as a doctor is okay; this practice is NOT!! We have been left in treatment rooms for more than 2 hours on two separate occasions. It is exceedingly difficult to get anyone on the phone for any reason what so ever. The office has only 7 regular business hours each day. It is nearly impossible for any working parent to make a routine appointment, unless they work somewhere where it is okay to take time away from work to listen to 10 minutes of message before you are allowed to leave a voice message for some to call you back later (at work of course) at which time you can possibly schedule an appointment. The staff turnover is high and it is a 50/50 chance that you will encounter someone who feels like being bothered by your child's health concerns.

If you need paperwork for your child's school good luck. I dropped off a medication slip for son's Epi-Pen JR. and was told it would take 7-10 working days to be complete. When they finally called to let me know it was ready, I left work and drove the 6 minutes it takes to get from my office to their East Moline office. When I went in, they had no idea what I was talking about and told me it had not yet been 10 working days so it was not ready. I asked them why they called me and told me the form was ready, to which they responded that they were not sure any did call -- as if I would make that up? They did finally produce the form after about 25 minutes of waiting around and listening to women behind the glass window complain that I was there.

We have been with this group for 7 years -- it is the only pediatrician my insurance will accept or else we would have left 6.5 years ago. They know that this insurance provider is huge in the area and that they are the only choice so they have no reason to provide any level of customer service.
