I like this dentist and his staff so much that I've been bringing all my kids to them even though they don't accept my dental discount plan (many dentists don't). I know most people in my shoes would look for a new dentist to fit the plan, but I think I'm going to look for a new dental plan to fit the dentist. There are lots of dental plans, but excellence in dentistry is harder to come by.
I loved their state of the art facility, the friendly staff and the great hours. What I didn't like was the feeling I had after leaving there. I went in for a cleaning. I had no pain or problems. I was told that I had to have all my fillings replaced. After asking how long I'd had them, I was told they were "only supposed to last __years" I thought about it and waited a few months. This was something I had never heard of. I finally decided they must be correct, they are the professionals. After leaving the office, and paying the full amount I was told it was supposed to be, I received bills and phone calls asking for more than $100 dollars difference. I paid that amount. 3 months later I was asked for another 260$. When I called my insurance, they told me I did owe them that money. They thought the office staff might not have given me the correct estimated total to begin with. Did they do this to get me to do it? I'm not sure since I didn't go for a 2nd opinion before replacing the fillings. I'm not sure since I didn't have the technical terms for what fillings they were replacing in order to ask my insurance before hand. Just my opinion.
