Our daughter was diagnosed with moderate to severe hearing loss at birth. Her hearing progressively worsened over time until she reached a level of profound hearing loss. When she became a candidate for Cochlear Implants (CIs) we explored the option of implants as well as raising her as a deaf child. After a long period of research and thoughtful consideration, we decided to proceed with the CI route.

At this point, both our audiologist and speech/hearing therapist, as well as others who we met along this journey, highly recommended Dr. Disher and gave him glowing reviews. At our initial consultation, we felt very comfortable with Dr. Disher and his staff. Everyone was very professional but still very kind. We were able to spend as much time as we wanted asking questions and addressing our concerns and we told to call any time with any additional questions or concerns. At our Pre-Op appointment, our experience was very similar as well. Throughout this process, Dr. Disher and his staff gave our young daughter an exceptional amount of attention, putting her at ease through this process as well.

On the day of surgery, my wife and I were the only ones who had any anxiety. Whenever we answered hospital staff who asked what we were at the hospital for and who our doctor was, they immediately went out of their way to say how wonderful Dr. Disher is and what a great job he does. (Having been to this same hospital numerous times for unrelated reasons - this was very a-typical).

Surgery went off without any complications as did our recovery time at the hospital. Dr. Disher came by several times to check on our daughter as well as to inquire how we were doing. At bandage removal time (prior to release/check-out) the incisions made for the cochlear were far smaller and less conspicuous than incision photos made by other surgeons that we had viewed on-line.

We are very excited as activation day approaches and continuing the journey to restore the sense of hearing to our daughter.
