Excellent doctor with a great "bedside" manner. Very professional and thorough.

I had two appointments with Dr. Gray. I left the first one thinking he was great. I left the second one thinking he was rude, inconsiderate, incorrect, and irresponsible. In addition, it is hard to get an appointment, and the wait in the waiting room was more than an hour.

At the first appointment, Dr. Gray seemed to be considerate. This would turn out to be untrue. Originally, I went in because I was having ongoing chest pains. Even though it was not what I had come in for, he noticed I was also taking meds prescribed by my psychiatrist, told me he knew her and that she was good, and took the time to discuss those medications, my mental health, and how it could relate to my physical symptoms. I am diagnosed with major depression, anxiety/panic disorder and ADHD but per my psychiatrist was on a break from ADHD medications until my doctor could run blood work: Dr. Gray acknowledged this, instructed me to get the blood work and an echocardiogram, and to make a follow up appointment with him to discuss the results. He said at that time, if my psychiatrist still didn’t want me to resume the ADHD meds, he would have “no problem prescribing them himself” because those meds were known to help with anxiety, which could be a factor of the physical symptoms I was feeling, which could be manifesting again because of not taking the meds. I left feeling confident that he was a thoughtful physician.

After the blood work and the echo, I returned to Dr. Gray for my follow up. It was a disaster.

After waiting again for some time, he entered the room and immediately asked what I was there for and was I feeling unwell? It took me a moment to answer, because I thought if he didn’t remember me that he had at least looked at my chart before coming in. I said, “well I got my blood work and the echo,” and the look on his face was one of surprise, like someone realizing they are missing information—he then began flipping through his clipboard and said, “oh.”

My blood work and the echo had come back with healthy results, and although they were sent to his office, to this day I am still unsure whether he ever saw them. He instead began reading his notes from my last appointment, and to my frustration, engaged me in a repeat of the conversation from my first appointment, and to my disbelief, came to an entirely different conclusion than he did previously. It was as if he had amnesia and became a different person.

First, he began questioning my psychiatrist’s diagnoses as well as my meds. He asked, “what exactly are you diagnosed with?” and when I began, “major depression...” he cut me off and said, “well that’s meaningless.” He noted again that I was taking Abilify and asked if I “really thought I was bipolar” even though that was not my diagnosis. Bit by bit he tore apart what my psychiatrist and therapist were treating me for.

Incredibly, he then ordered me to go get blood work again. I said, “but we did that last time, remember?” and he ignored me, saying to get it done and schedule a follow up with him again. He did not mention my anxiety/ADHD meds, which was the reason I was there in the first place, so I asked if I could resume them since my test results were good. In response, he asked if my job was stressful. I said not particularly, no, but I have trouble focusing and you said they were effective for my anxiety. He said, “come back when you have a stressful job where you need ADHD meds and we can talk then.” My jaw dropped.

I threw away the new blood work order as I left the office and have not been back.

Not only did he not listen, not only was he duplicitous, not only was he rude, but he confused me so much about my mental diagnosis, something that I never put on the table for discussion, that I also stopped seeing my psychiatrist and therapist, doubting everything. I’m still searching for all new doctors.

Avoid this man. He and his office are not to be trusted.

Their staff was not friendly at all, I didn't feel welcome there. I spend a little too much time in the waiting room. I've waited longer at other offices, but I was hoping to be seen sooner. They consistently dismiss my concerns and accuse me of making problems up. I don't trust them to ever actually look into my concerns and see if they're valid.
