Their office was kind of gross. I was scared I was going to catch something from being in the office. Every time I come here I feel so unwelcome as soon as I enter the door. They can cancel your appointment without telling you.
OK, so this actually happened a couple of years ago, but I rehashed the story with a friend yesterday and decided to share my story online. I took my 5-year-old daughter to him for her kindergarten exam. Once we got there, I was told I could not go back with her because I had my infant with me. This being her first dentist visit, of course she was very scared to go back without me by her side. She did NOT throw a huge fit, cause a scene, or yell. She was just scared and crying a little. The staff did NOTHING to help. I took her outside and had a talk with her. She gathered up all her bravery and walked back in, ready for her exam. She was absolutely fine when we came back in. The assistant or hygienist (not sure which) said that they would not see her because of the way she behaved. Obviously, I was not happy about this after pulling her out of school for this exam. I asked to reschedule. She went to check with the doctor, came back and said that my daughter is not welcome back to his office, ever. I was floored! I could not believe how insensitive and cruel this man was. My daughter left there feeling absolutley crushed and embarrassed. She still talks about it when we drive by and says "that's the dentist that hates kids" or "that's the dentist that hates me". Of course, I did not put those words in her mouth. She came to that realization on her own. Oh, and here's the kicker. I even got a letter in the mail from them, making it official that she is no longer allowed in their office. Once again, let me just make it clear that she was absolutely NOT out of control. Just very typical behavior for a child who is scared for their first dentist visit. I now take my 3 kids to Jenkins and LeBlanc where they are treated like royalty. They love going to the dentist now!
