After many years of using this dentist we have been forced to switch to another practice. There has been an ever increasing tendency to push additional services on a more frequent basis, including x-rays, oral cancer screening, and extra "required" visits. Now they have started the practice of not completing regular cleanings in one visit. They claimed on two different occasions with two different patients that the hygienist was unable to clean the teeth due to excessive gum bleeding. We were instructed to come back in two weeks to complete the cleaning at a full additonal charge of course. Mind you this happened with two kids who see the dentist regularly 3 times a year for cleanings. Our insurance company will only cover 2 visits so this extra additional visit to complete the cleaning had to be paid out of pocket. Either the hygienist is not cleaning the teeth properly, or this is a new scam to generate more revenue for the practice. Other patients should beware of this new tactic. We conferred with several other dentists and they found this tactic quite unusual for patients who see a dentist regularily.
