When I arrived for my appointment the friendly staff seemed to be waiting for me. I've been to other places where I had to wait forever after I arrived for my appointment, but not here. I was very impressed. Let me just say that this business is in one of the safest areas around and you will be pleasantly surprised at how lovely the surroundings are. They were friendly, polite, and made me feel right at home, which is so refreshing. They were ready to see me when I showed up for my appointment. I never had to wait for them to show up. The one thing that I really enjoy about this place is their high level of customer service. Their full attention is always on me and they never take personal calls during my appointment. I've been to other places that answer their phone and it just drives me crazy.

I was referred to Hudson Valley Oral Surgery by my dentist because I need three wisdom teeth extracted. I made my appointment two months in advance because they had no other openings. When I made my appointment I was informed that I needed to bring someone with me that could drive me home after the appointment and that anything over $300 would need an authorization from my insurance company. I did not ask at the time but assumed that they would obtain the authorization because my dentist had done so for visits and procedures I had done in her office. I called Hudson Valley Oral Surgery today to confirm my appointment that is in one week and to also find out if they had obtained authorization or if I had to do it myself. The receptionist asked me why I would want to get an authorization and I told her that I had been informed when I made the appointment that authorization was required. She became upset and raised her voice at me and informed me that no one in that office would have told me anything like that and I was wrong. She also informed me that if anything needed an authorization I would have to come in for a consultation visit and then schedule another appointment I asked to speak to management because she was so angry with me and I did not feel that I could have a conversation with her. She put me on hold and when the manager picked up the phone instead of introducing herself and asking what she could do to help she said to me “who the hell told you that authorization was required because we would never do that.” I found that to be very disrespectful and rude and informed her that I would not be spoken to that way and I hung up the phone. I called back hoping to get someone else that would be easier to deal with and found myself speaking with the same people. I then called the other office and was informed that the doctor was on vacation and there was no one else that I could speak to. I decided to give it one more try and called back the Fishkill office. Again I got the same person and I tried once again to explain to her that I had no problem getting the authorization if necessary. She informed me that I didn’t have to bother because she was removing my name from the appointment book and I needed to find somewhere else to go. Fortunately for myself I remained calm during the entire time and did not raise my voice back to the people I spoke to although they felt it ok to raise theirs to me. I found this to be very unprofessional and disrespectful. After waiting two months for the appointment only to be told that I needed to go elsewhere really got my blood boiling. I have worked in the medical field for almost 14 years and have never spoken to my patients this way. If I had done so I can honestly say that I would not have had a job. The people that the doctor has working for him are doing more harm than good. They are rude and they need to brush up on their customer service skills. I will be calling my dentist in the morning to inform her of the situation and ask her if she could find someone else to refer to and I will also be calling my insurance company to file a complaint with them. I read an earlier review on this website that sounded similar to mine so it seems as though the same people may still be working there.

Their primary concern is what's best for me, and they only give me the advice that would benefit me the most. The office was easy enough to find. I could tell that they took pride in their office's appearance. It was very well organized and well taken care of. The staff was very helpful no matter how many times I called with a question or concern. They never made me feel uncomfortable for asking any question. They have a very good professional reputation. I know that I'm under the care of an expert. All in all it was a positive experience although i did feel they were getting a little impatient with my teenage son who was experience some pain and disorientation after wisdom teeth extraction. He was traumatized as hes never had pain and iv sedation before and i could feel the staff was getting annoyed. I could understand but i felt caught between helping my son get thru the experience and placating them.
