Dr. Rugh is a master at solving the most difficult mouth reconstruction cases. Most dentists want to do every step themselves so they can keep all of the fees [expensive separate steps such as extraction, root canal, installing the crown].

Dr. Rugh has other expert dentists in his office, each of whom is a dental board certified specialist [periodontist to do the gum surgery and drilling the jaw and installing the post implant, and endodontist to do whatever root canal work that is needed]. Dr. Rugh is himself dental board certified in the specialty of prosthodontics [fixing defective or missing teeth, such as bridges, caps and crowns, removable false teeth, and artificial permanent teeth].

No other dental office that I know of anywhere around Dayton has dentists with all of these different board certification specialty credentials. Every dentist anywhere is licensed to do all of these types of work, but a specialist does only one somewhat narrow class of dental work. My money says a specialist is most likely to get it right the first time. And with your teeth, there may be no second time.

Dr. Rugh is like the quarterback on a football team, in that he is the one who makes the overall diagnosis, and proposes a treatment plan, and discusses alternative options and prices with the patient, and decides which specialist will do what tasks and in what order the work will be done.

The other specialist dentists in his office do their parts of the patient's work, such as root canals and gum surgery, and installation of any post implants needed. Dr. Rugh does the construction of the needed artificial teeth, and performs the final installation.

I needed a complete mouth reconstruction, with about ten teeth either broken or missing. I had Dr. Rugh and his team install 7 artificial permanent teeth, and several crowns. The work was spread over more than a year, and my guess is that I had 40 or 50 visits, many lasting an hour or two. I was never kept waiting more than a few minutes to begin the dental work. None of the dentists in Dr. Rugh's office ever seemed to rush the work on me in order to get to the next patient. The staff was always very helpful and understanding.

I have another tooth needing reconstruction, and I will be going back to the man I consider a true master of the craft. I have a lot of experience being Dr. Rugh's patient, and I have absolute faith and trust in his expertise and professional judgment.
