I would not recommend Monarch to anyone. Save yourself the hassle and go to Cornerstone Dental.

Agreed that Dr Swords is absolutely awful. They should bring back Dr. Shah and Dr. Robertson. Dr Borgman is great though...book your appointments with him. :)
Nikita (hygeinist) is fabulous!! :)
Robin (front desk) is fabulous!! :)

I wouldn't let Dr. Swords touch my mouth if she paid me.

TERRIBLE! Went in for a routine cleaning as a new patient. The call center that booked the appointment said to be there at 8, and I should be seen at 8:15. She told me she would email the forms and if I filled them out in advance I could be seen quicker. I was the first patient in the door at exactly 8 and handed in my completed forms. After fighting off the mosquitos in the lobby for 45 minutes and watching two other patients go before me, they finally called me in for x-rays at 8:45! The young lady shooting the x-rays was obviously new. She had difficulty placing the film and caused me much discomfort. She even had me hold the apparatus while shooting film - (I hope that was safe?) She kept fumbling around and would step over the cord that stretched from my mouth to her computer. Just as I guessed would happen, on the last attempt, she tripped over the cord and yanked the plate from my mouth. She tried to reset the computer, got flustered and I never saw her again - someone else came in to finish the x-rays without trouble. Now I am with Dr. Swords and she is probing my gums and reading the depths to a hygenist. She kept correcting herself on which teeth she was referring to. She made so many corrections that I was sure the hygenist must be confused. YEP, the hygenist got the readings wrong and we had to redo the lower jaw measurements (not fun!) Now instead of getting my teeth cleaned, Dr Swords is consulting me about the procedures she wants to have done, pulling 2 teeth, crowns, and deep cleaning under gums. I reminded her that I just wanted a cleaning today and she she replied that there was only one hygenist in the office today but she would "try to squeeze me in!" THAT'S WHAT I WAS THERE FOR! So she disappears and an office lady comes in later with an estimate and WANTS ME TO SIGN IT! I had to tell her three times that all I wanted was a cleaning. She finally gives up, tells me that "cleaning is just polishing the teeth" and says she has to go back to her computer. At this point, I don't want anyone from that office touching me again. I get up from the chair and go to the counter. Up until now I hadn't been cross with anyone but I guess you couldn't tell by my expression. I was asked how I was doing by another counter person. Dr. Swords had her back to me. When I unloaded with all the reasons I wasn't ok, Swords walked off. The young lady asked what Monarch could do to make it right - I told her I just wanted my teeth cleaned - she was dumbfounded............crickets....................... The other girl finally finished her estimate. She started explaining the charges (another waste of time, because I was never coming back) and she told me that I had great insurance! (BS! They wouldn't even take my lame DMO plan at the dental office I originally wanted to go to). I was subconciously daring her to ask me for my $10 copay but thankfully she didn't and I was finally free of that nightmare. Bottom line - they don't listen to you. I asked about whitening and I told several people (who asked me) that I had some sensitivity on my front tooth. Never once did anyone address my concerns or try to sell me on teeth whitening. I wasted time and one of my (free) office cleanings and still didn't get my teeth cleaned. They employ young, unexperienced people in that office. They don't listen and don't care about what YOU want. I don't remember ever seeing a dentist and not walking away with squeaky clean teeth. Unbelievable.

I wasn't greeted at all when I entered their office. I could tell they noticed I walked in, but they still didn't acknowledge me. The staff must have not been trained very well. Almost every time I would ask them a question, they'd refer me to their boss or someone else. I was worried that I was going to be in a lot of pain during my procedure, but they gave me a local anesthetic that took the pain away. I was very comfortable the whole time.
The front desk staff leaves a lot to be desired, unfriendly and ALL ABOUT MONEY and not the patient! Am going to another Dentist.
