Never written a review b4. I went in last year- need alot of work. My financial situation leaves much to be desired, and i was nervous about seeing a dentist 1st time in 40+yrs. He was great- made me feal better, and told me if i had issues to just come by n he'd help. I was blown away! Well, then i went back for some antibiotics. No pain meds, just penicilin. Not only did he act like i was stupid this time, but my paperwork went to my old address(my fault) so i had to pay ALOT more than i could afford. So i don't know. Guess if ya catch him on a good day you'll be ok. Just hope ya don't get him on a bad one.

Have been a patient for years, am more than pleased with services, and recommend them highly. I am not a run of the mill patient with few problems, rather quite the opposite.

I feel that this "office" is 90% an archaic amalgamation of UNcaring individuals that are in the wrong profession! If they cannot find it within themselves to treat their patients with at LEAST a modicum of respect and caring, get a job that does not require you to deal with fellow human beings This is SUPPOSED to be a "health care center"! Which by definition should elicit concern and empathy for the ones needing their help. This place is so far from these ideals, that at times it seems diametrically opposed .It's as if, because this is a "sliding scale-$$"health practice, The patients themselves share this wretched compromise of human dignity by "sliding-scale" compassion. P.S The first review that I read is at such odds with reality it's simply unbelievable, it seems like a complete set-up!.May haps a bit too much H2O Gas...hmmm?

They weren't careful at all, and I was in a lot of pain after my appointment. This provider has no helpful information available online, apart from their address and phone number. They just have a basic listings page. They briefly listened to me, but quickly downplayed everything I said or stopped paying attention. They are nice but WAY overbooked and the staff is clearly overworked. They should really allow for more time in between appointments if they want to keep any business. I don't feel like I can count on them to work with me until they find a solution for my situation. They always seem like they're going to give up on me. Note: Dentist Dr. Flannagan entered exam room for important procedure, looked at me blankly and said "Why are YOU here?" He had my file in his hand - why did he not even look into the file before entering the room?! Fitting me for device was a fiasco - several wrong attempts, repeated uncomfortable fittings, device in the end causes jaw bone to crack together and is oainful to wear. It was expensive. I do not fit their discount for sliding scale lower wages but for some reason I continued to have dental care at the office. My mistake for not "shopping around" If I had to pay full price anyway, I should have transferred to a fully private dental office where the staff have a reason to please its customers/patients. But I kept thinking that I was just there on an "off day" and that when they got to know me, the care I received would improve. Frankly, I stayed because there is one extremely kind and caring woman who handles fincances for patients. But her nice personality is no stand in for forthrightness and knowledge of financial guidelines for dental care. Since virtually no insurance covers dental, including the otherwise excellent Vermont government plans that amount to Universal Coverage in our state. I protest this. it is not the fault of this particular dental office but I feel strongly that if the dentists' professional organizations were together enough to lobby the Legislature for coverage for physical pain and suffering in the health of the mouth like insurance covers other organs of the body, Vermont might lead the nation on progressive action for people's basic haelth care. But dentists clearly want to be paid cash and at rates beyond what Medicaid or Medicare provide MD's of other specialties. he answer is then greed on the part of dentists. hey have no personal monetary motivation to make dental care a part of insured heath plans. At this dental office, the business office people, though friendly, gave confliciting and plain wrong information about insurance coverage, resulting in surprise charges. Sign at door, although perhaps necessary in today's climate of vioence, is alarming: "No firearms allowed in office." Dental hygiene women vary: one is expert and kind, anoher is shaky and takes it out on patients by acting mean and judging one's lifelong dental care without listening to patient's history. Old fashioned x-ray machine and films. Open exam room plan makes for uncomfortable hearing distance to other patients' cries of pain and drilling. Main dentist seems betond retirement age and only working at this "charity clinic" to make needed money. No "bedside manner" or memory of previous treatments at all. Waiting room and facilities in general are depressing. Old equipment is stored in corners of waiting room. Sometimes office is empty and staff are chatting or snacking, with nothing to do. Environment feels like a social club for staff with little connection to patients' concerns or to health care of underprivileged population. it is just a job for some of them; could be any business where employees are left with too much free time on their hands. In short, I am switching to a different dentists' office. I recommend that the State of Vermont, to the extent the government subsidizes care at this location, do a site evaluation and consider hiring new and more experienced dentist(s). Cannot speak for more than the one DDS I have seen on 4-5 occasions. Perhaps there are other dentists on staff who are trustworthy and up to date on patient solutions and care.
