McComb is nationally known for its bad medical care in general. It was even in USA Today that Medicare (US Government) released via its statistics based on social security numbers that SMRMC has the absolute highest death rate in the United States for heart attack victims so I am very very cautious on what Dr I see and usually go out of town to see a Dr.. Also , I thoroughly investigate any Dr before I go to see them. Dr Austin was in a magazine "America's Top Physicians" and is nationally known and recognized as one of the absolute top ENT specialist in the U.S. and we (McComb , Pike county) are so lucky to have him here in the first place. Its a miracle he stays here and hasn't left to go to California or New York to make millions more. He cares about his patients , incredibly smart and could not be friendlier.
