My daughter has been seeing him for several years. I feel like he is very knowledgeable, however, like with many specialist, he is a bit socially awkward. I never felt like he was intentionally rude just not sure how to deal with people. Once he was aware how his body language and "matter of fact" attitude was stressing my daughter out, he completely relaxed and even attempts to make jokes with us now. He worked with us and listened when I told him the medications that she was on were not working and we eventually found a combination that works for her. He personally called me back on a Saturday night after my daughter had her worst seizure and changed the medications that night! Like I said, many specialist and geniuses in the field but have no idea how to "people" well...that's why we have nurses :)

Been struggling with sleep issues for almost 9 years now since a brain injury. I have tried many things. This doctor did not take any time to look at my history to see what I've done or listen to symptoms. Just prescribed cpap, which is not helping at all with daytime extreme fatigue. I'm doing pretty well with it. I wear it 5-6 nights a week. He did nothing but chastise me about using it. I'm tired of going to doctors who are supposedly specialists and get treated like I'm an idiot or make me feel even worse when I leave the appointment.

It is beyond disgraceful that this doctor treats his patients the way they do. Going in for a sleep study with my 6-year-old niece who has multiple difficulties and a disorder called PBD, he was completely careless. He grabbed her head and bend her neck back so quickly she instantly began crying. When I told him she doesn’t like to be jolted back he was very aggravated. She does not like to be touched on her head because she has hearing aid and glasses, and becomes protective. I am not someone who typically would write a review but it disgusts me that people bother going into practice when they have to deal with patients and are this distrespectful. Obviously people wouldn’t be going to see him for help if they were doing okay, so to make the experience that should be helping you so unpleasant makes me wonder why he is still employed. As we left she said thank you, still upset, and he actually told her to be quiet. Do not see this doctor, and if you have the opportunity to see anyone else, it’s worth an extra drive.

Dr Kossak was all about giving medication for adhd for my daughter instead of correcting her horrible sleep problems. After 5+ visits he still insists she is getting enough sleep even though she doesn't fall asleep till 1 am and wakes up at 5am and wakes up 2-3 times during that time.
