They weren't very understanding or caring, and they didn't show empathy for my situation. I could tell I wasn't their primary concern. Every time I visit, I have to remind them why I'm visiting them. It makes me feel like they don't care about me. Their office was clean enough, nothing special though. I was kind of surprised that they left me alone during my consultation for quite awhile. It wasn't that long, but it was still kind of annoying. I had to wait a while after I arrived for my appointment. The staff didn't even keep me updated about how much longer it would be.

I love how much attention to detail they show. They are always so careful and meticulous. I never have to worry about them making a mistake or forgetting something. They were friendly.

I'll definitely be going back. I didn't have a bad experience. One thing I really appreciated about them, was that they didn’t rush my appointment at all. I was able to talk about everything I needed to, without worrying about being interrupted or cut off. It wasn’t difficult to get an appointment with them at all. It was nice to be able to get in right away. I would recommend them to people I know. They were able to help me a lot.

Let me start by saying that my experience with Marianne Hendrix was by far the worst doctor experience I have ever had, in addition to being pretty bizarre.

When I was called in to speak with her, she reviewed my prerequisite data (new patient forms) for less than 3 minutes before forming seemingly concrete ideas about me.
She asked me questions about my history and current personal issues but deemed my thoughts "too negative" , frequently throwing her hands up in the air and saying “I will not pay attention to anything you are saying right now”. She performed this “technique” several times, often completely shutting down or ignoring me for minutes at a time.

As I felt a little apprehensive about seeing a psychiatrist for medication, I was completely put off that this was her response while she shamelessly claimed to be "the best psychiatrist I would ever have” and that she" never forgets a word a patient says“. To be honest, I find both statements hard to believe.

I gave her the benefit of the doubt in this harsh approach in the off shoot that this was her strategy for helping patients “breaking state”, however she crossed the line when her general apathy, impatience and disrespect extended into her treatment plan and her approach to the insurance side of medicine.

She was completely reluctant to answer any questions regarding the type of medication she was prescribing, its side effects, its estimated cost (since name brand drugs aren’t always covered by my insurance plan) or anything insurance related obstacle. For example, when she told me to make a weekly appointment, I told her my insurance company only covered 12 visits for the calendar year (roughly one per month) she replied “I would only address this if it was an issue”.

In her Treatment, she refused to prescribe anything generic saying “it doesn’t work”, and prescribed me very high dosages of Abilify and Lamotrigine, for “anxiety and moderate depression”. Upon researching them at home I learned Abilify is used treat bipolar disorder and schizophrenia( neither of which are conditions I have). The other drug, Lamotrigine, is used for bipolar disorder and epilepsy and is generally only prescribed for depression as an off label usage. I was completely puzzled as to why was I prescribed drugs which were not created with the intention of singularly and directly treating my condition.

Not only will I get another psychiatrist’s opinion before taking any of these drugs, but I will never go back to her office again. Up until today, I have had patient, sympathetic, invested psychiatrists. If this is what you seek, I suggest you look elswhere .
