Dr. Jaeger died on December 7, 2010, after a fall down a flight of stairs and ten days spent in the Neuro ICU and New York Presbyterian/Weill-Cornell, during which her condition declined. I was her significant other for seven years, and we knew each other going back to high school. She was beautiful, brilliant, charming, and cared intensely about her patients. Although she treated numerous depressed patients, she lost only one to suicide in all her years of practice, and that patient's family contacted her to thank her for keeping him alive for over 20 years. On another website, some individuals who I guess are angry that she had the temerity to die while they were in treatment with her, somehow complained that she was beautiful and "charismatic" but provided no information as to why they rated her so poorly. She would forgive them, as do I.
