I do not have many good things to say about Dr. Shapiro:
1) Patient is required to bring all bottles of medicines with him or her when he or she sees Dr. Shapiro even though it is Dr. Shapiro who prescribes whatever medicines for the patient. I assume that is just because it is convenient for Dr. Shapiro, inconvenience for the patient is not Dr. Shapiro's problem.
2) Patient is charged upfront before being able to see Dr. Shapiro. If his office made mistake by charging $15 less, then he will send that $15 owned to collection agency and collection agency will make embarrass call to you every day until you pay that $15.00
3) When patient calls for information, you might be asked to hold, sometime for 45 min., then was hung up on you times and times again. If receptionist takes a message, you would likely not get call back.
4) Patient will see most likely new faces of his receptionist, and nurse, I do not see staff stability there.
5)5) Typical I will have to wait from 20 min. up to 90 min. after I arrived there at my appointment time. I guess patient time is not worth much of anything, and Dr. Shapiro’s time is valuable.

Today it is the trigger point for me to be forced to change my doctor even though I did not like to change where I was turned away because I did not bring my 5 medicine bottles which were Dr. Shapiro prescribed for me.

Dr. Shapiro changed my prescription from 6 months to 4 months without any notice. At first I thought it was a mistake. After multiple phone calls and two letters, I still couldn't find out why. Every time I spoke with someone in the office they would start with “you need blood work” and end with “you need to schedule an appointment”. No one there knows how to read a chart or they’d see I just had blood work. When I pointed out that I just had blood work they told me I had to come in. I’m a healthy guy that had high cholesterol but now it’s managed with a prescription. Still, I would see Dr. Shapiro every six months. Now it seems he wants to up the appointments to every 4 months without an explanation.
His staff is rude and has poor customer service skills. I get put on hold mid-sentence, spoken to like I’m interrupting their day and they send my prescriptions to the wrong pharmacy. After multiple attempts to speak with the doctor I got a phone call from someone in his office stating that if I wanted to go to another doctor he would give me a 30 day prescription to hold me until I could find another healthcare provider. I’m not a high maintenance patient. In fact I’ve never raised a complaint until now. Yet after almost 20 years as a patient I’m told he no longer wants my business and he won’t even take the time to speak with me himself - very disappointing.

Absolutely! It is right off the freeway and close to everthing

Never! They have lots of business, but they do such a great job of never overbooking.
