During my appointment, they thoroughly went over all of my questions, and I definitely felt a lot more knowledgeable afterwards. I've never seen anyone who is more respected by their staff. The entire staff only had great things to say about working there, and it made me want to return all the more. They have some of the best customer service I have ever seen. Putting their customers first is definitely a priority here and it shows. One of the first things I noticed about this business was the level of detail and attention to make the building handicap-accessible. Even the bathrooms were designed to be accessible with doors wide enough to accommodate wheelchairs and grab bars in the stalls. You could tell they really made an effort to accommodate people with all different needs. I didn't experience any unnecessary pain during my visit, and I was amazed at how much better I felt after I left.

No one contacted me beforehand to see what my problem was and why I was requesting to see a gastroenterologist in addition to getting a colonoscopy. Just a generic procedure to them. They sent me no post-procedure information. They sent me generic pre-procedure instructions. Considering my condition, their instructions were overkill. Would not have had the procedure in winter if I knew I could not take Advil for at least 10 days (3 before and 7 after) because my arthritis is much more painful in cold weather. When I arrived, no one at reception desk. Receptionist sat down the hall 20 feet away from the waiting area. Had to stand at the window and tap on the glass until she deigned to get close enough to hear me. I waited 1.25 hours with no input from doctor's office until I tapped on the glass again trying to get the receptionist's attention. They had the windows open when the temperature was in the 20s. Several much older people were waiting. Had to keep on coats, hats, gloves. I closed the window. After I was summoned for my procedure I was given a big stack of papers to sign (could have read and signed some of them while I was waiting in reception). I would not sign anything that was not true - I had not met the doctors (gastroenterologist and anesthesiologist) so how could I sign that they had explained everything to me? They distrupted my reading of the documents and told me most people didn't read them at all. Doctors were patronizing and condescending. Asked the anesthesiologist what medication I would receive, and he said, "a sedative." I asked the name and whether it would be oral or intravenous. He answered those questions. He asked my surgical history but he wrote down the wrong information. Told him 3 times what my history was. Doctors called me by my first name and insisted on being called Dr. with their last names. I told them to call me "Ms." followed by my last name. Dr. Klein called me "sweetheart" several times. Post-procedure when I spoke to Dr. Kelin about my reason for seeing him in the first place, he said there was nothing he could do. Since my colonoscopy was clear, he was not interested in my g.i. issues. On follow-up calls he called me "sweety" and "dear" in addition to "sweetheart" in spite of my requesting he stop. I requested copies of every document I signed and doctors' notes from my procedure (as Dr. Klein's documentation stated I was entitled to) which I have yet to receive. Surely I could have at least been faxed copies of the documents I signed 9 days ago.
