Dr. Kessler has taken care of my wife and myself for many years. We found him to be a most compassionate doctor. His staff are the nicest people you want to meet.
My wife and I will miss Dr. Kessler as he has retired. A well deserved retirement.
We are quite sure the next Doctor we see in the office will be just as warm and caring as Dr. Kessler was.

I appreciated that they were still concerned about my health even after I left the office. They followed up with me after my appointment and everything. They were very sympathetic to my situation, and made me feel cared for. I knew that I could count on them at all times. The one thing that I really enjoy about this place is their high level of customer service. Their full attention is always on me and they never take personal calls during my appointment. I've been to other places that answer their phone and it just drives me crazy. They really go above and beyond in making me feel valued and important. I have to say this is one of the friendliest and most welcoming offices I've ever visited. Not only do my appointments never get canceled last minute, they take time out of their day to send me a reminder so I don't forget. They are extremely reliable.

I dont think these questions get to the real important care issues. For example. Dr. Kessler, in this practice is a terrific doctor, Warm and caring and I care about that, but, he's more. He's a well informed, up-to-date and a good scientific doctor. He inspires trust in me because he is really careful and conscientious about my health and he is up-to-date in his field and knows how to assess, monitor and treat me. That is what I care about. rating. That is the practice of medicine, not if he has a Park Avenue Office and it looks like a Park Avenue Office. I care that his time, energy and resources go into making sure his office is neat and clean, sure, but more critically that I receive the most advanced and competent care he can deliver. I don't see th ose evaluations questions in your survery.

I don't care if his office is the most spiffy or neat. His is a bit messy around the edges but, it's clean and the staff knows what its doing, His lab coat is always clean and he is always neat. I don't care if he's spiffy and looks the like GQ.. I want him to practice medicine at the top level and be the best at what he does, and he is really great at what he does. His techs are all highlycompetent, is office staff efficient, professional and kind. He's dealing with heavy bad stuff. cancer and blood cancers, at that. I care that other docs in the area respect him for his excellence as a doc, not the temperature in his office when I take my clothes off. I mean that is a comfort issue and it matters for patient comfort, but it tells me nothing about how competent the doc is. Therefore, your rating system is useless to me. I can't use it to find a competent doc, though I don't know if most patients know how to figure that competence out if they are willing to go on and on about room temperater. Medicine isn't celebirty apprentice, I don't care if the office makes the doc look rich and powerful. Medicine is about how well you are able to deliver scientifically supported services, applied science and technology, to people who can benefit from your knowing about that. I want the doc whose best at that and is decent as a human being. The rest is of little consequence once it meets a reasonable standard of "presentableness". Give me that compentency rating, please, not if the nurses say nice things to me; important but not VITAL . I like beautiful things, but, that isn't an indication of the quality of the medical care, necessarily. Not all sparkling offices equal docs with excellent care. A filthy messy office, no matter how great the care is also an issue, because sick patients need clean spaces.

But, balance and questions about quality of care is much more critical to me. Dr. Kessler's office is slightly worn looking. It's cramped. there is a lot going on. But, he is a confident, competent doc, who cares about us, knows about our conditions and inspires confidence in me that what he tells me about my condition, I can trust, take it to the bank. This does not mean that I believe he is all knowing. He's a weel trained, intelligent doc, with no fanfare or special frills, except his raw talent, at doing the very best he can for the patients in his care. He does it wisely, confidently and with no false pretense.

His techs are all really good, too. When taking blood they know how to talk with and handle their charges. The Front Office, wonderful.

If I have to move and I might, I'll miss this doc and ask him who he may recommend where I'm going, but, it won't be him. I have been with Dr. Kessler about 15 years now and I think he's a DOCTOR. By this I mean he takes the Hippocratic Oath seriously, has a remarkable bedside manner, including a sense of humor and warmth and knows his field and broader medicine, as well as I can judge, really well. He practices with a complete sensibility and knowledge that he has a whole person in front of him, not just a disease or disorder, and I don't know how you get better than that. If the office is a bit worn, I really don't care!

And people providing this rating for you, should care much more about their care than their feelings about the office decor.

I've been seeing Dr. Kessler for three years now. I'm always amazed at how considerate and concerned he is for my well being. He always calls with my blood results and reminds me what symptoms to be aware of in the future. His advice is always good and if I have a problem, he will either call me or fit me in for an appointment on short notice. Not only do my appointments never get canceled last minute, the doctor and his staff take the time necessary to give me a thorough visit. I am very satisfied with my Dr. Kessler and his entire staff.
