Dr Dixon is one of the worst Orthopeatic Dr's I've ever had the displeasure of being referred to for a work related injury. Not only would he not listen to what I had to say about the pain in my ankle and that I didn't agree with his assement of the scans taken, he tried to belittle me by saying I was just trying to get out of going back to work by asking for more time and rest for the ankle because it wasn't responding to the PT he issued. He described my injury as a very mild sprain and went on to say I can live with it b/c he had the same injury on both his ankles and still could go to work and walk around on them. Since he wasn't listening and sending me back to work regardless and costing me extra money b/c of "his" interpratation of the level of my injury I requested a second opinion from the board (which I also had to pay for) went to see a great DR at Capital Region Ortho and was told it was not a sprain but a break, I shouldn't be walking on it and surgery was recommended ASAP. Everything went as good as expected but because of the delay in a proper diagnosis I have a bit of a circulation problem and a slight limp. I have Dr Dixon to thank for that and his opinionated view of Workers Comp cases. This Doctor should not be practicing let alone offering up his own bias opinions on WC cases, if he can't read the scans or xrays correctly and understand what he's looking at, get him out of there. They are WAY overbooked and the staff is clearly overworked and not always that pleasant. I've never been in there when the waiting rooms weren't packed with a bunch of very aggravated people. They seem to be more concerned about quantity of business over quality. The restrooms here are not clean. I would advise going before you leave the house. They seemed like they were extremely irritated to be at work, and that they couldn't wait for me to leave. They didn't seem to want to help anyone. The staff made it completely obvious that they didn't respect David Dixon, MD. It made me uncomfortable and I wasn't sure if I wanted to return. They were extremely argumentative and became angry very easily. I was trying to explain my situation and they just contradicted everything I was saying before I could finish.
