If there were a negative star, I would select it. Dr. Hutzenbuhler has her staff ask all questions on her behalf. Once she is in the room, she immediately will diagnose you with something before asking questions or testing you for anything. Her go-to diagnosis is IBS. She also treated me like a child, describing terms as if I were 5. She said that I am young, so my issues are likely related to stress. STEAR CLEAR. She's a train wreck. Her nurse and PA are great, however. They should quit.

Run! Run as fast as you can and as far as you can. Dr. H. is a hack. I saw her for several years. She started out as very caring and concerned and worked hard as my advocate, and then suddenly turned on me. I believe when she couldn't figure out what was wrong with me she got frustrated and gave up. I came to her with persistent epigastric pain. I had exploratory surgery with another surgeon who found a small bowel obstruction and fixed it, but I continued with epigastric pain. When I came to see her she told me I was addicted to surgery and the pain was all in my head - that I needed to see a psychiatrist and be on anxiety medication. When she diagnosed me with IBS and wanted to put me on medication and I noted that I was already on the medication she wanted to put me on and yet still had the epigastric pain she said to me "So what surgery do you want? That's what you're here for isn't it?" When I started to cry in frustration she laughed at me and said "Are you crying?" in a mocking tone. I left her practice more frustrated than ever. My PCP and I treated the pain with Proton Pump Inhibitors based on some of her recommendations. 6 months later my blood work showed severe anemia had developed and upon seeing a different GI doctor it was determined that I had developed a GI bleed in my stomach. The end result is that I have had to have my stomach REMOVED in order to stop the bleeding. I believe all of this could have been avoided if Dr. H. had listened to me - had not mocked me - had been more understanding and not given up - or had maybe even just admitted that she did not know what was wrong with me and had tried to consult with another physician. I am now looking at LIFELONG effects of having most of my stomach GONE because this doctor (and I use that term lightly) dismissed me, mocked me, and made me second guess my own self. I refused to pay the bill for this office visit and she has sent me to collections. It will be cold day in hell before she gets a penny from me for that abuse she served to me that day.
