I have been a patient here for about 8 months. At my last appointment I was prescribed the wrong medication (essentially ritalin instead of adderall) . I take some responsibility as I did not realize that this mistake had been made until I had prescription filled a couple of days later. I was flabbergasted, however, by this potentially dangerous error. I never felt like the staff at PPA made much effort to remedy this situation. I ended up taking the ritalin for the first month because I did not want to pay for another Rx to be filled (nobody at PPA offered any kind of suggestions). When I went to swap out scrips for months 2 and 3 I had to wait on additional errors to be corrected. I requested that--due to the hassle associated with being prescribed the wrong medication--I would like a recent missed appointment fee to be waived. (I had an appt scheduled the day before my wedding which was a terrible idea in the first place). While the missed appointment was unrelated, I felt frustrated by this experience and this seemed like a reasonable request. After sitting down--I overheard the receptionist mocking me in a disparaging way to her colleague--literally mimicking what I had said--which was essentially that this had been a "hassle". I was incensed by this but bit my tongue.

To their credit, my scrips were corrected and the missed appointment fee was waived, but my counselor never came out to speak to me, no one ever apologized, I was just given my scrips and told the fee was waved. I said thanks and quickly left. Seriously debating on whether to ever go here again. The receptionist was so brazenly rude, offensive, and frankly, obnoxious, that I felt compelled to write this review. I found her behavior even more off putting then being given the wrong prescription.

When I first went to Dr. Marshall, I was on six different medications. He helped me both understand my disease and the problem with so many pills. He treated me as a whole person and with the help of his staff (his therapist Judi Burkheart is wonderful)he got me off most of these medications. I am now on a better choice of medication and only have to take one and a half pills a day.

This Doctor seems to be more concerned about getting paid then the welfare of his patients. He will keep making you come in for an appointment for everything. If your medicine needs some minor adjustment that can be easily done quickly over the phone, he would much rather you pay fifty dollars to tell you the same thing in person. Also as a spouse I made a call to tell the doctor what I saw was going on with my loved one. He brushed me off before I could get 3 sentences out and passed me onto his secretary to make an "appointment." I do not feel he is the most qualified professional out there. I beleive you can find better. If you dont mind that cold kind of relationship with your doctor then hes the one for you.
