Summary: Gross Negligence

I went to this doctor because I was pregnant and wanted to get a baseline of my physical well-being, specifically, any nutritional deficiencies or toxins in my body. The doctor was well aware that I was pregnant. I asked the doctor if I could get my calcium levels checked, and he said he'd have to refer me to a lab. At the time, I was in public health education professionally, and so I'd attended many public health fairs in which calcium levels were checked in the ankle. I assumed the doctor would be sending me for a similar test. Instead, when I got to the lab, I found that Dr. Walls had scheduled me for an x-ray of my pelvis!

I had checked the "pregnant" box on all the intake forms, but apparently no one at the lab looked at this. On the way to do the procedure (I still wasn't aware what was to be done), I said to the technician leading me back to the exam room, "I did mark on your forms that I am pregnant - I just wanted to make sure that had been seen." The technician stopped dead in her tracks and said, "You're pregnant? You can't have this procedure done. It's an x-ray of your pelvic region."

In short, when a pregnant woman asked Dr. Walls for a baseline of her calcium levels, he sent her to get her pelvic region x-rayed! Imagine if I hadn't asked the question of the lab technician. Do not trust this doctor.
