I wanted to thank Dr ElBorno for all the help he gave my son. After years of struggling with severe ADHD and NLD, we were refered to him by a neighbor. He was the first psychiatrist I ever dealt with who stayed on top of the situation when my son tried different medications (and we were originally from Long Island where there are lots of "good" doctors). He had us come right back in when my son had an adverse reaction to them; changed them immediately, and finally found what worked for him - and when he did, my son who was 14 finally slept a whole night through soundly - something that he had not done since he was 4 years old. Things improved so much from there. I am very thankful to God that He led us to Dr. El Borno.

Doctor is a character! Always pleasant and professional--very energetic. He remembers me well and really tries to help. He is willing to think "outside the box" and try new things when the standard treatment did not work. Very caring.

I just deleted a very positive but 'canned' survey to write one of my own. Dr. El Borno cared for my 3 children from the time the middle child was 3 years old, following initial psychiatric hospitalization. This child's multitude of diagnoses fell under the pervasive developmental disability (PDD) umbrella, further complicated by bipolar disorder. The other two also exhibited traits within the PDD spectrum, including disturbances of thought and mood. Dr. El Borno's approach over the 16 years of work with our children was unorthodox, to say the least. He was zany at his best! [He wore his glasses sideways half the time...] There were definitely times I misunderstood him and felt insulted. But that was me, stressed out by my circumstances, not him. His goal was rapport with the children...and they loved him! He saw the 5 of us as a family during evenings, and came to hospital and school meetings during the day. All 3 are college age now, in college and thriving. Few psychiatrists take the time to provide therapy. As a licensed psychologist myself, I'd say few that do are very effective at it. Dr. El Borno is the exception to that, and my children are living proof. To me, he is the Patch Adams of psychiatry. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to properly thank him.
