This woman saved my life. She's common sense, compassion, genuine interest, kind and caring. She saw me through the death of my husband and convinced me when she felt I was ready to move forward.

I have since re-married (20 years) and have found a wonderful spouse. I've often wished to let Dr Hoffman know what a success story she hath wrought. She's the best. I was a caseworker for dependent and neglected children for 15 years and had exposure to a number of mental heath providers and psychiatrists. None as good as she.

I was a patient of Dr. Hoffman for years and she is wonderful. She helped me through the death of my husband as well as the death of an extremely close and young family friend. This woman is a gem and I would give my right arm to be able to contact her again. She doesn't tell you what to do, but leads you to understand what must be done. In my experience as a caseworker for dependent and neglected children for over a dozen years, I was exposed to numerous psychiatrists in a working relationship. Dr. Hoffman is a treasure and I'd just like to be able to tell her that myself. She saved my life.

I saw Dr. Hoffman from 1998 to 2002. Now, in 2020, I can tell you: Run! Go find another doctor. I checked myself into the hospital in 1999 for mania. The psychiatrist who covered for Dr. Hoffman on her days off became my doctor when I again checked myself into the hospital in 2002. Because he already knew me from the month in the hospital in 1999, he told me that if I had been his patient, he would have diagnosed PTSD, not bipolar disorder, though he and I both believe it's a comorbidity. Dr. Hoffman put me into 2 years of being comatose under so many drugs, and somehow I managed to scratch my way to seeing a different doctor in 2002. That doctor took me off everything except lithium and ativan, and I pulled my life together - graduation, job, first apartment! It's shocking to think that Dr. Hoffman had been talking to me about assisted living. She even encouraged me to go to the ER and LIE about being suicidal when all I had was the fear about how bipolar disorder can lead to suicide. I was dependent on her and, sadly, seduced by her kind manner. Too bad there is no competence to go along with her benevolence. Google her name and you'll find that she's gained some notoriety noteworthy enough to put her name in the paper.
