I went to see this doctor in the mid-90's, from another state when others with really severe A.D.D. said this was the guy. I had been on disability for 7 years or more, and had no support system and an inadequate income. A full week of cognitive testing and drug trials cost $1000 (one thousand dollars) and when I left there, I was able to read and fully comprehend a very complicated biology book I had brought along with me. (I had intense interest in reading before, but no attention for it, and no comprehension.) Within a couple days I had gotten a job, now able to understand directions, read a map, and work a radio. (The first job was delivering food.) It is really too bad that it was so horrendously hard to find a local doctor who would fully support the medication Dr. Liden had found to work for me. Still I was able to pursue working for some time until the lack reliable prescription, of housing, and subsequent lack of other basic needs, especially good diet make that all impossible. Severe disability occurs in real world contexts, and while I feel it very sad that the other requirements to create an functional life weren't available to me, this doctor opened the door to my seeing what was possible. I got to have what I call a "developmental period," that is, a time when I learned new skills until I had no more support for the medication, and as well the necessity of other things in place, like housing and good diet were overwhelmingly clear and yet unaddressable. At the same time, I do throw my support behind another reviewer who saw Dr. Liden as a child and felt it wasteful. It was great to have help I could use, but HEARING me and troubleshooting what was going on in my life and helping prioritize possible actions to address these (even medication support) was missing. I can imagine how the perspective of a child would go unheard. And it is the experience of the individual themselves, whether 8 years old or 80, that can tell you exactly what's working versus what needs to be addressed. Also, I must add, that there are a LOT of supplements that contribute to improved brain function, and these need inclusion in one's attempts to find the best supports for A.D.D. issues and whole person function. Putting mercury fillings in my teeth was also very harmful, and having all those fillings removed by a specialist in that process had as profound effect as ritalin did, though not exactly the same ways.

Dr. Liden provides amazing care for my son who has ADD. He is thorough and caring and gives us all the time we need to do right by him. We had gone to lots of places before without any real success. We were so happy to find his practice and all the people who work there.

This doctor treated me as a child starting when I was 8, I am now 24. I can promise you that he WILL overmedicate you/your child and continue to make sure you come back. I am currently in medical school and I can tell you from my training that he is a physician that is obsessed with making money, and ensuring that you come back for "med reviews" and continual "counseling sessions" to continue to make money off of you and your child. I DO NOT reccomend Dr. Liden and I do recommend asking your PCP for another referral if this doctor is listed. Trust me, this man sucked up money from my family for years until I became old enough to put a stop to it.
