Ignore the previous positive reviews as I can only believe those people are masochists. This "doctor" Oakman is one of those people in the healthcare industry to avoid. His staff are top notch, but Oakman is a joke. He doesn't greet you when he comes in for an examination and only smiled when he learned that my mother died of a cerebral hemorrhage--which he diagnosed 15 years after the fact as really an aneurism. I guess the only part of the job he likes is in correcting his patients--or trying to, since my mother's brain surgeon and pathologist saw no sign of any aneurism. The humorous (ie frightening) part of the interview for me was in going over my conditions and medications--most of which Oakman didn't have any knowledge of. I actually felt like I was being cross-examined by a hostile attorney when I explained my medicines ("What!? Do you have high blood pressure or something!?"). He seemed reluctant to actually examine me and prescribe any medication for me. He didn't seem interested in doing any testing or seeing me again for a follow-up. I really don't think he cares whether I live or die. I learned from his staff that Oakman actually programs the music in his office as some sort of internet DJ. Bizarre. In closing, I have to tell you that Oakman is the kind of guy that if he worked at a rape crisis center--he'd blame the victims for letting themselves be attacked. His last words to me weren't "nice to meet you" or even "goodbye", but instead were "you need to lose weight". Wow. Such an insightful old sourpuss.

This was the absolute worse physician visit I have ever had in my life. He was rude, insensitive, condescending and has absolutely no bedside manner whatsoever. I came to his office because a friend recommended him. This physician asked me who writes my prescriptions and told me he would not take my case. My "case"?! WTH I am a person not a freaking case. I have never been treated by any physician the way I was treated by this horrible man. I will return to my nurse practitioner. At least she knew what she was doing and genuinely cared. I'm so sorry I wasted my time with this awful man. I lost an hour of my life and left feeling miserable and small. Do not go here unless your healthy..maybe then he knows what to do.
