Dr. Melmed was a tremendous help during a very difficult time in my life. He is easy to talk to and remember even small details about past conversations. He listened to my concerns about medications and I felt I had a voice in my treatment. He prescribed the perfect medication for me, which many other doctors failed to do before.
I am sorry he is not in my insurance plan and it is difficult for me to see him without coverage.

I'm always amazed at how considerate and concerned they are for my well-being. Their advice is always wonderful and completely unbiased. I’ve been to some other psychiatrists that really rushed my appointment, but they didn’t do that here at all. I was able to take as much time as I needed. I got an appointment quickly. I've never had to wait too long. I've been other places that left me unattended for quite awhile, but not here. They would never leave me unattended and they always go the extra mile to make me feel cared for. One of the first things I noticed when I came in for my appointment here was that the building was not handicap-accessible. I didn't see any ramps or wheelchair accessibility, which seemed kind of strange to me.

This guy is incredibly disorganized, and often spends more than half of my appointment time looking through my file trying to remember what medications he put me on. Even then, he frequently write my perscriptions for incorrect dosages. He is incredibly expensive ($225 session) and does not file insurance. Even at such a high rate, he is a clockwatcher who kicks you out of his office once time is up (to the minute), even if he is in the middle of prescribing medicine. He is a very cold person, and it is very difficult to engage in conversation with him. He is also extremely rigid, and does not want patient input in making clinical decisions. He infantalizes his patients, rather than empowering them tp participate in their own healthcare decisions, which can be so crucial in a mental health setting.
