Dr. Edstrom is not at all like some of the negative reviews I found online. At first I was very nervous to be assigned to him given some of the reviews, but then I soon found that it must have just been one or two women with bad experiences. I never once felt uncomfortable with him and contrary to some of the reviews, he never once did an exam without gloves or without a nurse present. He was always professional, polite, and never made any rude or off remarks like I read in other reviews, so I have a hard time believing some of those other reviews and think it is horrible when people even appear to be outright trying to ruin someone's career. Now I will say that while Dr. Edstrom was really good, the nurses were not always the same nurses when I came in (there is a lot of staff) and so treatment varied depending on what nurse I was seeing. Overall, the majority of his staff was really nice to me, friendly, informative, etc. There was one visit (my last one as I moved) that left me with mixed feelings but that was largely due to the blonde/heavier set nurse who I had never been with before, and not anything to do with Dr. Edstrom (except that he was suddenly much busier that day and rushed compared to all prior visits up to that point, and it was the only visit I had been kept waiting in the room for forty some minutes and that was not at all the norm up to that point). I did wonder if part of the issue was my Medicaid's "Healthy Options" insurance changing to something else, given the nurse's questions about how I could afford to buy steak (we were talking about my low iron and diet, and how I did eat meat/"steak" which was really pot roast meat that I called steak), how she couponed like me and watched sales too but couldn't afford it, it just seemed pretty nosy and judgmental, like poor people on Medicaid and food stamps shouldn't be frugal/money-wise and able to eat meat or something, but maybe she was having a bad day. She was just not like the other nurses and I trust that had I continued going back that I would have seen the better care that I previously had before that last visit unless insurance did play a role in that last visit's discomfort. Again, overall, Dr. Edstrom is not at all like some others have posted online, and the majority of the nurses were really nice.
