I took my son who has high functioning autism to get evaluated. I was told he would never be of average intelligence and in fact would be of a lower intelligence. I was told he would probably never be able take care of himself and live on his own. Now he is in high school in the general population (not special education), and is self sufficient. He gets to and from school on his own, hangs out with his friends, buys his own clothing at the mall and has even had a job in the summer that has invited him to come back to due his positive attitude and efficiency. He is also on the honor roll at school. I think its obvious that the evaluation was inaccurate. These are my reasons for my rating.
