My husband left this p lace because one of the activities staff would not leave him alone. He went with her to her home in her private car. She wouldn't bring him back to Alders eons even though he was expecting family to visit. After he left alder sons she continued to call and make sexual remarks. Most of the staff are e excellent--this sort of unethical practice which the owners know about cancels all the good they do.

The interactions of some activities staff in the sunshine room reminded me of teen agers l. Some are very good, but one in particular had her hands all over male patients and took a certain male patient off the unit in her private car. When I asked for a private visiting place for my husband and myself I was directed to an area where staff wals present and talking in loud voices. This was ironic because my husband tells me one staff person took him places on the unit which were private and off camera so they could cuddle.

Yes! They took a personal call right in front of me. I found it to be incredibly rude.

My husband suffers with multiple chronic medical illnesses and depression.. Over the past five years he has been in and out of hospitals, rehab facilities and nursing homes. He arrived at Alderson's about a year ago after surgical repair of a hip and shoulder fracture. He now is up and about every day. He enjoys the community at Alderson's, has made friends, attends activities---in short he is nothing short of a miracle. His pain and illness are well controlled. What a pleasure it is to see him smile again. The meticulous attention to his well being, the caring, respectful, supportive, patient centered culture is beyond anything I have ever experienced in a facility.

Have an aunt living at Alderson's.
I've been in MANY care homes across CA and Oregon. Alderson's is by far the best I've experienced. All the employees are qualified, cheerful and attentive. Residents get the kindest treatment from everyone on staff.
We were there, unannounced, for 3 days - at various times. We met the workers on every shift. A physically fit woman with dementia, my 87 yr old aunt is very active (literally running in the halls in her walker chair) and the staff are so wonderful as they keep up with her antics. She is very happy, and contented. They keep her - and every resident - extremely clean and well cared for.
I wouldn't mind living there myself someday.
