I have many horror stories to share about the time my dad spent at Arbors in Milford. What makes it even worse is when you can not trust the nurses, when you catch them in lies, and they try to convince you that you don't know your own dad that you have spent 40 years with and they have spent a month with. One example, I have one picture of the top of my dad's head where it was cut when he fell at the nurse's station after trying to get out of his wheel chair to stand to get the nurse's attention at the desk because he wanted his medicine and he was ignored in his room. His call light wasn't answered this particular night at all. So he went out to the nurse's station and asked there but they just kept ignoring him. He fell and cut his head and this was in the evening before bed. We found out the next morning. My dad told us what happened. I went in to see him and took a picture of his head. That's because this wasn't the first time he has fallen or had accidents there. The situation got worse because the nurse said he fell in his room but my dad interrupted and corrected her and she said he was delusional and mixed-up. That was totally insulting. She doesn't know my dad, obviously. She would have never made that comment if she did knew him. We (my family) had a meeting with staff at Arbors because of situations like this. Including my dad escaping from Arbors on foot down the road. He had to wear an alarm for the rest of his time there. He was there a total of three months. It was the most stressful three months for my family.
