If someone asked me to suggest a good nursing home in the area, it wouldn't be this place. As you walk in, the first door opens automatically for the handicap into a vestibule, but the second door must be opened manually. This is VERY hard on people in wheel chairs. In talking to the residence on wing 3 and wing 4, I was told "this is a living hell". Other comments were: I hate living here, It is so hard living here, Room mates are horrible to live with, I feel like I am going crazy (from living here).... I smelled the food given to the residence on March 9th, 2014, and I was nauseated by the stench. I would not serve that to a dog (who probably would not eat it). I mentioned this to a resident who said "now you know what we go through. Its horrible". I wondered if they would serve the same food if the management and those who cooked this food were made to eat this for one month. I doubt they would make it one week before changing things. Also, after lunch many people have to go to the bathroom. They line up in the hall waiting for an aide to help them. I have witnessed, repeatedly, their waiting for over a half hour before anyone shows up. Since it makes sense that after you eat people may need to use the bathroom, someone should be available to help these people. No one does.
