I am a volunteer at this facility and I have to say that the conditions that these residents are found in are deplorable. Some have complained to me but are afraid to complain to the Nurses or CNA's because they fear retaliation. One says she has a hard time getting fills for her oxygen and is always gasping for air. Another is afraid to ask to be changed because they will leave her in bed for hours. It is sad when you visit these ones that only want to be cared for and appreciated and are treated worse than a stray animal.

I was treated terribly. I'm absolutely positive that I would have gotten better service anywhere else. The staff didn't seem to know a whole lot about the company they worked for. Every single time I'd ask them a question, they'd refer me to someone else. It was very frustrating. One of the first things I noticed about this business was how many different areas of the building were handicap-accessible. I have been to other places where I couldn't tell how someone in a wheelchair could even enter, but they really spent a lot of time to accommodate people with all different needs. I couldn't get a single person here to answer any of my questions. I was so frustrated. They didn't tell me very much about my treatments' risks and benefits. I still felt like I had to do my own research.

I would like to tell you about the few visits and what I encountered while in the facility in Roswell New Mexico My first visit was very disturbing when walking down the hall and a elderly gentlemen was coming out of his room and kindly asked the nurses aid or what ever they may go by if she could change him. Her reply in a very loud, rude and unprofessional manner was quote unquote you get back in your room! I continued on to my visit. On another visit I walked into the room and it smelled horrible. I went on with my visit and thought well maybe there had been somone that had just had a bowel movement. It wasn't until I looked over where my grand-daughter was standing that I noticed the feces that was all over the floor where she was standing. Now I'm not sure how the state guide lines are for this kind of care but I can asure you that I'm sure that they would not be very happy of how this facility is kept. I'm sure that I don't have to explain what can come out of the filth of feces being left on the floor or beding or anywhere else except where it is suppose to be disposed of. When I mentioned this to the nurse on duty she tried explaining a condition that this person had. To my defense as I did explain to the nurse "it didn't just happen the feces was dry and hard on the floor "IT WAS DISGUSTING!" THERE WAS NO EXCUSE FOR THIS "NONE!"
After checking further, from what I am understanding. this is not the first time this has happen. I can't say that I understand this kind of work ethics from anyone on your staff and I would hope that it would be taken care of ASAP These elderly and not so elderly patients are human beings and should be treated with the upmost respect they are someones Mom, Dad, Sister, Brother, Aunt, Uncle, Grandma, OR Grandpa!!!!
