They made the extra effort to make sure every question and concern I had was addressed. I'm undecided if I would refer any of my friends or family here. I'm not sure if I loved them that much to be honest. They didn't show any sort of attention to detail, which I think is very important. I was afraid they were going to miss or forget something important. I definitely don't trust their advice. They're only concerned about themselves. There definitely appears to be a trend of overbooking clients here. The wait has gotten longer and longer from when I first started seeing them.

Biggest problem we had was that the person distributing the meds seemed to forget or get meds mixed up and when questioned, the family became the enemy. While the head of the facility said that of course we had a right to ask about the medicine we are given, she only said so to sound agreeable. While in fact, the last time we asked about a med in question, we were asked to leave.

Also, caught the head nurse in two direct lies. They made the patient feel like he wasn't going to get any better and that why it was time for him to leave. When we confronted the therapists with this bit of reasoning, they were shocked and said that was absolutely untrue. So in essence, if you want to be sure your loved one is getting the best care possible, if you want to be able to talk to the doctor about the medicines, if you question a newly introduced pill you've never seen before, or if you mind having staff tell your loved one they will not get any better, then this is not the place for you.

It is truly amazing that Colonial Manor has a lower rating than the first nursing home Mom was in that abused and neglected her. Colonial Manor should have a 5 star rating. Mom has been there for approximately 3 years. When everyone else wrote her off, they went above and beyond to make her as healthy as possible. The facility is always clean and I have never smelled anything fowl. They put the money they receive BACK into the facility. Each time I visit I notice something new for the residents. I have had bad experiences with two other nursing homes and they fall below one star in my book. Colonial Manor is family owned since 1962. What does this mean? No corporate crap. I cannot recommend them highly enough. 5 stars for Colonial Manor.

I would not recommend this facilty. The staff never fully told me the truth about my family member's condition, then when insurance decided to discontinue paying, she was "discharged" immediately without anywhere to go and still in a 3/4 arm cast, unable to walk or take care of herself (hygiene, etc) The social services employee at this faciltiy arranged for a facility transfer without proper authorization from the POA. The POA was never informed of this move, nor were they given a contact number of where the family member was transferred to.

Do your research before placing your loved one at the facility.
