I am not overly excited about Crestmont. My biggest concern is the lack of communication between nurses, aides, doctors and therapists. My loved one has been in this facility for a few months, and has received decent care; however the largest amount of care seems to come from some of the aides who tend to provide him with extra attention.
Most of the nurses are great, especially LINDA, who always treats my family with respect. KUDOS to her!!! However, we have had to call Administration several times, as things were either NOT being done for our loved one, or no one seemed to know the answer to our questions; in other words, everyone working with him, had a different answer or thought process on his care.
Finally, my one and only LARGE complaint is about the social workers. I called to speak with her about an issue, and she told me that a rumor was going around that when I come to visit, I am UNDER THE INFLUENCE. I have never been more offended. I am a professional, with a job and a masters degree and I do NOT drink and or do drugs. This seemed, in my opinion, to be made up because I complained about my loved one having a dirty room as well as I did not feel that he was being washed up very well; unless you consider a baby wipe to be properly cleaned. We were told he would be SHOWERED twice a week, and in two months, he has had two showers. I feel that the social worker made this RUMOR up as she blatantly lied to me and told me that another family member told her that the hospital he was in, said the same thing. My family member NEVER told her that, and I went and spoke with the hospital he was in prior (which she said a hospital that he was never in) and they assured me that NO ONE thought that and they showed me the notes that they sent to Crestmont- NOTHING WRITTEN ABOUT ME BEING UNDER THE INFLUENCE.
My real question is m, even if she did hear that from someone, why tell me, when I am calling to bring a serious matter to her attention? I thought it was very unprofessional and seemed like she was dismissing my very serious concern by telling me indirectly, " Well I can't trust what you say because you are drunk when you come here!"
In closing, SOME great staff members, but overall, I would NOT send another loved one there again. They are in bad need of better management of their people, communication and general morale. (Most of the CNA's complain regularly about their job happiness or lack there of).
Both of my Grandmothers were in 5 star nursing homes; Crestmont is barely a 3!

My grandfather is a patient at Crestmont. Marsha has been his nurse on several occasions and has never given less than the best care available. The previous post, I can almost guarantee, is NOT typical. Thank you for the care and treatment you have given to our family. We feel very fortunate.

.My Name is Mr. Martin and My mom Hattie Martin is in this facility. Today I called to check on my mom.s doctor.s appointment. I was connected by one lady to another ward there in the facility. The second lady I talked with became angry with me cecause I disagreed with her on my mom.s psychological balance, and to what causing it. I stated I thought that my mom perhaps is not getting the proper dosage of medicine for her psychological status. This other lady disagreed with me and said she thinks that it.s because of the kidney issue that my mother suposedly has. when I disagreed with this woman Marsha Block she slammed the phone down. This woman was very rude and I think innately racist. I respect those that respect me and I only fear Allah God no Humans. What ever this woman problem is she needs to handle it another way. I CALLED TO CHECK ON MY MOTHER AND I PRETTY MUCH KNOW HER VERY WELL AS I WAS HER CARE GIVER FOR 10 OR MORE YEARS. I KNOW FROM A LONGTERM VIEW WHAT MY MOTHER.S SITUATION AND MAKE UP IS .tHIS WOMAN NEEDS TO CHECK HER ATTITUDE. BECAUSE AFTER SLAMMING THE PHONE DOWN IN MY FACE HAS ONLY CAUSED A DISCONNECT IN MY THOUGHT PROCCESS. wHO EVER HER BOSS OR SUPERVISOR IS PULL HER CHAIN NOW . THANK YOU.

They barely gave me any information at all. I'm going to have to do my own research to get my questions answered. Their staff was not that friendly, and didn't go out of their way to make me feel welcome. They didn't help me as much as I was hoping and didn't answer all my questions. I found the office, but only because I had simple, very clear directions. I wish it had been easier to locate. They also once we decided to place my father there, tell us that they would not accept him due to his disease and that he was a liablitly. DO NOT PLACE YOUR LOVED ONES HERE.
