Delmar Gardens of Lenexa is a terrible place to put a loved one. my Father was there for 13 months and was constantly neglected. My concerns were brushed off by the staff. Finally after being sent to the ER and found to be dehydrated for the THIRD time we pulled him out. I wouldn't let this place watch my dog for the weekend, let alone ever put another family member under their care.
I researched most of the nursing homes in the area before placing our Mother there. We have always been happy with the nursing home and its staff. Occassionally they've missed a step here or there, but nothing serious. They work hard and seem to do their best to take good care of our mother and to make her happy. Her medical assistants that have the most contact with her, know her well and are very friendly to her and us. The nurses may not always know our names when we come in, but the medical assistants do. When ever it comes up in conversation, I do let family or friends know that we are very happy with Delmar Gardens of Lenexa and we appreciate their hard work. The only place we've really had a difficulty with has been the accounting office with her bill. One time we did not receive a bill for 3 months, but the nursing home was changing accountants. Another time she was double billed for a hair appointment, but we got it taken care of. We do watch her bill everymonth, to make sure there are no inconsistancies. Thank you for your concern over our mother and our happiness with the nursing home.
