My father was admitted to this facility and I was not at all impressed from the very start. Prior to his transfer from the hospital, I went to the facility to view and was not at all pleased with what I found. The staff was not very welcoming and the place overall was dirty, at best. I went back to the hospital to speak with the social worker about having my father transferred elsewhere, but was told the insurance company had already approved the transfer, paperwork was done, and my dad was already en route to the facility. It took myself, my mom & my son staying with my dad in shifts 24/7 just to make sure he got adequate care. My father is a cardiac & stroke patient with aphaia (able to speak but the words come out wrong), had had double pneumonia with sepsis .... it took the staff at this facility 3 days (yes 3 DAYS) to give him any of his meds making dad become agitated and frustrated. They never, NEVER brought him his meals - we had to march ourselves right down to the cafeteria to pick up his meals for him (when we weren't bringing in food to him) just so he could get nutrition. I had to bring this to the attention of the NAs, RNs, shift supervisors and administration numerous times - you know what one nurse and one administrator told us ...... "we're sorry, we're just too busy with not enough people to help out". And that's our problem why???? I also reported this to the state and really don't understand why they are still open!!!! Their interaction with other residents of the facility was awful - my heart went out to those residents! Thankfully, in about 40 days, my dad was discharged home. I would NEVER recommend Guilford Health Care Center to anyone for any reason! Stay as far away from this facility as you can!!!!

My mother was there for 6 months for what was suppose to be a 3 week stay to get stronger. She was to see her own doctor, but their doctor took over and decided to diagnose her incompetent so they could receive her income. They threaten me they were going to place her in the state hospital. I her daughter, having POA, knew this couldn't be done permanently, but for a short term effort I was not sure. I fought these people 6 months getting my mother out of this place and to a very much nicer facility. She was totally mistreated the whole time she was there, along with a lot of the other patients. I made several reports to the state, but this place remains open, I can't believe it.

My mom was at guilford for a very short time, and that was long enough! She left with a broken arm that she didn't come there with. .abuse, horrible staff, and the administrator does not care about anything but herself(and how her hair looks!)
Look up there state review. .its not good!
Stay away. . ..
