Something strange has been going on at the Haven. All of the great nurses that were there in the first of the year are no longer there. The residents seem very unhappy. And the staff seems unhappy too. WHAT IS GOING ON?

my mom is in this nursing home.It has some flaws like all places, but my mom loves
the Haven .Right now she is very unhappy as am I. They have a building that the residents love. This is where they come togeather as a family to visit, play bingo and other games. They have singings, christmas plays, church services and so many good times there. Some of the ladies cook in there once a week with the help of the greatest activity director this place has ever had, and all of the residents that want to, can come in there and eat. It feels like home to them. Now the owner is going to tear part of it down and make them a garden so they can just sit and look.Guess what, they dont want to just sit and look, they want interaction with each other in their HOME. Please Mr. Causey dont tear their one link to home down. If you want to do something for our loved ones, make their home nicer dont get rid of it. Come sometimes and watch them while they are eating Listen to their "family talk". This is the last home for them, before they get to their heavenly home.

My dad was just put in the Haven last week , for a short time, I hope. My sister and I visted him yesterday 9-18-11 and the first thing we noticed was his door was closed. The young lady that put him in bed said she had just put him in bed because he was sleepy...which he wasn't. We walk in and the first thing I see is the fact that his bed rail was not put up and he wasn't even covered up. This man is NOT mobile by himself!!! The first thing he said was he needed to go to the bathroom, which he said he told the girl when she put him in bed. True he had on a diaper, but what he needed to do was a lot more than to pee and said that he had needed to go all day, and this was around 2P.M. We took him to the bathroom ourselves and made sure he was clean and dry afterward. The bathrooom smelled ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE and was FILTHY around the bottom of the commode. We went across the road to the dollar store and purchased cleaner to clean the filth with and did it OURSELVES!!! First of all, there was no reason for his door to be closed. He was in there by himself, no tv, no phone and the rail down. When the door is closed, it gets extremely cold in his room and he is very, very cold natured. I am not asking for preferential treatment, just take care of him the way he deserves to be....with dignity.
Thank You
