The cna and rehab staff members were very good to excellent; however the medical care and administrative handling were appalling, I was induced/forced to sign credit card payment when I could hardly hold a pen or sit up; however, I have yet to receive refund for the time I was not on medicare (I left the facility 2/12/14). The medication procedures and administration needed constant watch, and I contracted pneumonia and H1N1 flu while I was there. Although I had all my medications, the facility ordered new ones, charging me more than I usually pay and were very disorganized in seeing that I was given what I needed (until my daughters arrived and created some stir over the matter). We were very disappointed in the whole experience and glad to get out of there.
I just love Highland House! I'll definitely be going back. I didn't have a bad experience. They're really great about taking their time with me, and they don't mind answering my questions. I've never felt like an annoyance to them no matter how many questions I have. They were ready to see me when I showed up for my physical therapy appointment. I never had to wait for them to show up. They were very sympathetic to my situation, and made me feel cared for. I knew that I could count on them at all times.
