We placed my father, who has dementia in here and they had no prior knowledge of the problems associated with dementia. He has now been moved to a dementia care unit and the difference is like night and day. When we picked him up, his room stunk so bad I was gagging in the hall and I have a strong stomach. He did not get any better while he was there, it was evident they didn't work with him at all, granted he doesn't want to be worked with but that is the nature of the disease. The head nurse kept calling us trying to move his room rather than working on cleaning his room and helping him to clean up after himself so that it didn't smell so bad. I have pictures of him when he was there and he looks so much better now, it is amazing--if you can avoid this facility please do so!!!
