I think all nursing homes need to screen their employees much closer than they do. As a former CNA myself, I see many things that need to be changed in all of them. Since my Mother is in this one, I keep a close watch on her care. If I had the means of keeping her at my home, that is what I would do. No matter which nursing home your loved one is in, you have to stay on top of them and make your presence known often and voice your concerns to the department head(s) or you will be sorry you didn't. My Mother gets good care here as far as I am concerned. Not perfect care, good care. If you are looking for perfect care, there is none out there so good luck in your search.

No, they were able to provide everything they said they would

Not at all, their office smelled fantastic!

It was nice to see them treat their staff with so much respect. It was obvious that they had a good relationship with all of their staff members. As a side note, on my way to the appointment I was worried that I must have gotten wrong directions because I was practically out in the boondocks by the time I reached their building. I almost turned around because I was sure I must have passed their office, but to my surprise it was just really inconveniently located. Their office was nice and quiet. I was worried it would be overly loud but it was fine. The waiting room here is spacious. I never feel like I have to sit too close to someone or that it is overcrowded. I couldn't believe how knowledgeable and well-informed the staff was. They were able to answer all my questions, except the ones they needed to have their boss's input on. It was great to be able to talk to such a skilled staff.
